If Benimon sticks in the league, I guess that would mean we had a team with 4 NBA players on it that couldn't make it past the first round? Benimon, Monroe, Sims, Hollis? And this is leaving out Wright and Freeman. I know all these players weren't so great at that time, but just interesting to note.

The Pelicans waived Vernon Macklin today and it looks like he will head to Europe to play.

How insane would it be if Benimon makes the league, while Wright and Freeman cannot? Can't be a talent scout in the world who could have predicted that 4 years ago.

The fact is that Benimon wasn't very good when he was on our team. Obviously, he improved quite a bit at Towson, and he benefited hugely from having the 5th college year (without it, I doubt he would be even in the discussion for the NBA). I'm still not convinced Benimon is an NBA caliber player, but the fact that he even has a chance would have shocked anybody at the time he transferred from Georgetown after his sophomore year.
Wright and Freeman are both hampered by the fact that they are a bit undersized for the NBA (especially Wright). If you could add 3 inches to both, they probably would have gotten substantially more interest.

I was called a fool. He's borderline NBA but he does one thing really well: rebound and his mindset is good for NBA. we'll see.

Otto scored 14 pts in 20 mins on 5-9 from the floor, 2-3 from 3 in a loss to Charlotte. Meanwhile in Minneapolis, Henry led the Sixers in scoring and rebounds with 17 and 6 in Philly's loss to the Timberwolves.

Otto remained in the positive side, +2, while he was in there.

I hope they do not try to use Otto at guard. I really do not think he has the handle and could hurt his progression in the NBA. He cannot defend at the two, either.

His handle is better than you give him credit for and the Wiz coaches this summer were asking him to bring the ball up more during the summer league games. But, no, I don't think he will be playing 2 guard. However with Beal being down that means more minutes are open overall for perimeter players. Guys like Rice Jr who could have taken up some of Oto's time at the three if the Wiz went small, will instead now start at the two or play a lot more minutes at the two position.

Grabbed him last pick in a fantasy basketball draft.

Otto finished with 13 on 3-5, 1-2 from 3 with 6 rebounds in 23.5 mins. A double-double for Greg, who had 17 and 10 in 34 mins. Greg started against the Wizards.

Noel has been playing in Summer League games. Wasn't sure, thanks! Great job Henry! No sweat. Below is a link for his preseason stats (2 games). Apparently, he sat the other night with a right leg contusion that isn't supposed to be a big deal. sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/5157/
