I do wish Doug would run afoul of ESPN so we could have whole 30 for 30 series about his bad decision making.

Since Benimon news seems to always pop up here, looks like Benimmon got sent back down to the D League after his 10 day contract. I actually thought he would stick for the rest of the season but guess not.

Wait. Gottlieb isn't good at talent evaluation at any level? Who knew? Full disclosure, I didn't ever expect Steph Curry to be the beast he is but, then again, my living doesn't depend at all on what I do or do not know about any sports figure.

This just in.... Greg Monroe signing with the Knicks? Deal almost done!! Greg Monroe denies it. What gives? He has to deny it. The season is not over yet. Monroe and the Knicks cannot have direct talks yet without violating NBA tampering rules. Doesn't mean they aren't talking through intermediaries; they just can't confirm anything yet.

This just in.... Greg Monroe signing with the Knicks? Deal almost done!! Greg Monroe denies it. What gives? Who would want to admit that they may end up with the Knicks at this point? He could be wearing a Knicks jersey after a game in the Knicks locker room and say "I don't play for those guys" and I wouldn't blame him one bit. Psychological defense mechanism.

Paul Pierce on Otto, from espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/12690080/washington-wizards-paul-pierce-speaks-truth "Pierce was sidelined for three games with an injured toe, but the true cause, he said, was to rest a sprained right knee he has been slogging through for a month. In his previous six games before he finally took a seat, Pierce was shooting just 25.6 percent from the field and averaging single digits. The Wizards plugged in former No. 3 pick Otto Porter Jr. in Pierce's place and he responded by averaging 13.6 points and nearly seven rebounds a game over past four outings. "Otto is another one who just doesn't understand how good he is,'' Pierce said. "He can shoot, he's a slasher, he can defend, I'm just not sure how badly he wants it every day. "That kid just needs to get mad. If he came to practice ticked off and to the games ticked off, he'd be fine. But it's hard to get Otto mad. I should punch him one day just to get him riled up.''" Otto seems to join a long line of Georgetown players about whom similar things have been said and written. Roy famously needed help getting angry. Jeff has a very composed on-court demeanor (even before and after dunking all over everyone). I suspect others have said the same about Monroe. I don't mind it--though I do mind when people question their desire or effort. It's just interesting that Hoyas who make it to the league are perceived to have similar personalities in this respect.

Watched the whole game last night as I am a Pacers fan. It is the first time I have seen Wittman give him regular key minute run and Otto also didn't let a few misses bother him as he kept at it. They either need to force Wittman to give him regular minutes or move Wittman as I think Otto's confidence is now there (a few years too late but still).

Isn't this his sophomore season?
