I think Otto jumping to NBA can be waited at least for another year or two. When the time comes and he takes over like Jeff Green did in his junior year, we will be back in FF and he will be ready to go to NBA. We still need to see how much of a jump this kid will make from this year to next year. IMO, the Jeff did not have that big of an improvement from his frosh to soph year; it was the jump he made from soph to junior year that got him picked in top 5. I think Otto may also hit some roadblock as well possibly next season, but I think he has a good chance to surpass Jeff Green by end of next season or the season after.

I see Otto coming back for his junior year like Jeff Green. Otto isn't the kid who came to Gtown to play for a definitive 2 years before going pro. he and his family both want him to succeed on and off the court. And with the way his family didn't let him play AAu ball, I think they sort of do the same and Otto will come back for at least his junior year. The kid is talented enough to go after next year though, no doubt. But don't be surprised either way.

I don't disagree with that overall sentiment, but he will go pro when he and his family feel he is most prepared to make that leap. Which very well could be after next season. But one thing that seems fairly certain - he will not be influenced by poor advice.

So Greg and Nate are supposed to get worse defensively?

Look at the bright side - since Otto is not even one of the best 15 guys in the BE, we definitely don't have to worry about him leaving for the NBA after next season!

I think logic dictates that Otto must now be considered one of the top 15 players in the nation for next year, a la the freshmen balloting this past year, and if Otto Porter is a Naismith/Wooden/etc. candidate this early, we must live each day in absolute terror that he's already got one foot out the door.
