I'll try this again: When is the last time we played an OOC team twice in the regular season? according to the front page, 1968-69 season

Memphis is much better this year than last. They also have a healthy Witherspoon. I predict a close win. Maybe 65-61 or 72-69........... Really? Did you see their two games in Maui? They're the exact same team as last year. Bunch of street ballers no Idea how to play organized basketball and Pastner has not shown he can coach yet. Recruit yes, coach no. I think we win this one by double digits. *Knock on wood*

we have to match their intensity on both ends from the tip. we can't be caught on our heels and get down early. i've never liked it in the past (mostly because we haven't played it well) but i think III needs to show lots of zone in this game. i liked what i saw from it so far this year with our length and athleticism and memphis has no clue how to attack it.

Same thing with Vanderbilt in 2006-07. Won at Memorial in the preseason, and then beat them again in the "Jeff Green traveled" Sweet Sixteen game.

The key to this game in my view is for the Hoyas to exploit their greatest asset - their absurd height. If we continue to play and hopefully master the 2-3 zone over the course of the season, it is going to be insanely hard to score against us.
On the offensive side, this is where our key players have to step up and make big plays. If we can get a lead early (unlike the Kansas game) and Hollis and JC make some buckets, this game could play right into our tempo rather than the one Memphis is hoping for

Means nothing but KenPom has us 28 a few spots in front of Memphis today and the computer projection is a 51% chance of a1 pt win - slimest of slim - we'll see.

Memphis reminds me of an stacked AAU team. Great talent, look great coming into the gym, waiting for their play to match the look and you see them all Spring/Summer and leave still waiting to see the great play.
This group with Calipari would be a top 5 team--with Pastner they will be a top 30-40 team. I don't think much of Pastner as a coach and never have dating back to the hype he was getting as a bench jockey at Arizona.

Will there be an NYC gamewatch for the Memphis game?

If we can win this game after playing Kansas so close, it will be a great boost for the confidence of the team, and will also put us back on the national radar. Tempo, patience, discipline will get it done.

Another good early season game for us. Build on what we did against Kansas and hit a few more shots.

Really not sure what to expect out of this one. Everybody keeps talking about our discipline versus their lack of discipline. But we're not exactly there yet - especially on the defensive side. I can see Memphis being successful at speeding the game up - which isn't necessarily a bad thing - but takes away what many perceive to be our advantage going into this.

harlem must have missed Jason's emphatic drive and dunk in the 2nd half vs Chaminade. Sure it was against Chaminade but it was still sweet.
