Be careful what you write. We'll be fact checking to see if anyone flip flops on their predictions. 2011-2012 Season Prediction29-0. Harry Saxa!

Hoyas pull a stunning upset, winning the Maui Invitational with victories over Kansas, UCLA and Duke. We finish the remainder of our non-conf slate undefeated, to no one's surprise. We start out strong in BE competition but stumble down the stretch -- winning some games by mere single digits. We advance to the finals of the BET, where we promptly dispatch a team that is not Cuse/Pitt, since those were bounced in the first round by USF and Depaul respectively and consequently knocked off the NCAA bubble. Six wins later we're cutting down the nets in the SuperDome after emerging from an all-Big East Final Four (St Johns, PC and Marquette, but I'm not 100% confident on this). The nation is electrified by private-school basketball at its finest and NBC offers the conference a new multi-billion dollar television contract. Notre Dame joins the conference in football, citing Georgetown as the Big East's savior and guaranteeing the long-term viability of the conference forever.
Dream big or go home. Harry Saxa!!!

Uh I'm not rooting for 6-12 in the BE.
Georgetown lost a lot and even with what they had, they have been going 7-11, 10-8, 10-8 in the league recently.

I'm not overly high on a team of freshman, but who's good this year? I mean, is anyone really impressed by most of the BE? Pitt'll be good, and UConn has a lot of talent (but they are young). Syracuse has a bunch of guys, but no one special to my eye, and Louisville is the same. I think it's a down year and a real opportunity for this team to surprise if they play every second hard.

Best case scenario 10-8 BE / anything less will not surprise / anything more will signal a really successful season and bright days ahead.

I predict that a strong ooc schedule will cause some uncomfortable bumps and bruises along the way, but that this young team will grow and learn from the trials and tribulations and that, followed by the always grueling grind of a BE conference, the young team will be well seasoned by March and The surprise of cutting down some nets will not be that much of a shock. I'd be happy if they manage to cut down 3 sets of nets, but in all honesty, I see at least one pair as a very legitimate goal -- BE title or trip to the Final 4.

hifi, I'd like to drink some of the same kool-aid you are gulping, but I think III will have tough time keeping these freshmen in line, they all are self-centered on a team that requires team thinking

Maybe you have unique access to the team, but it seems something like this would have seeped its way out by now.

I sure hope there is some inside knowledge that you have before throwing out such a blanket indictment.
