Anyone that thinks the freshman are going to help this team win is a blind homer and would jump off the Key Bridge if instructed by JT3.
I have never seen freshman make a winning impact on any of JT3's teams. None. The closest was Freeman in 2007 when he was inserted into the starting line up half way thru the season. Georgetown has never seen a true impact freshman that can take a team over the top (see Jeremy Lamb).
Every fan should be VERY happy if this team some how managed to get to .500 in the Big East. This is not a good team. Sims is going to get killed all season long in the paint in the Big East. When he is on the bench in foul trouble, who are you going to count on? A freshman? lol.
Could get ugly this season.
You've been warned.

Greg Monroe was a high impact freshman, in the sense that he averaged 30.9 minutes per game (second only to Chris Wright's 32.9, and he was the second best scorer behind Summers. I think it's safe to say that the 2008-2009 team would have been pretty awful without Monroe, even though Monroe alone wasn't enough for them to really excel.
Of course, the 2008-2009 team wasn't great and their NCAA success was non-existent. Under that definition, I suppose he wouldn't be considered a high impact freshman.

What's a winning impact? For those of us who speak English, that's an impact that contributes to the team winning. As such, I'd say Jon Wallace, Jeff Green, Roy Hibbert, Greg Monroe, DaJuan Summers and Austin Freeman all had significant winning impacts as freshmen (with Roy being a bit less). There's probably some players I am forgetting. If you have a different definition, by all means throw it out there, but fully expect a rebuttal that centers both on whatever bizarrely specific criteria you have of "winning impact" and your ability to communicate it.

If JTIII has a gameplan for jumping off the Key Bridge, I'm down.
For the Freshman, I don't think anyone thinks that any of them will carry us to a national championship but when you add 5 new pieces, there is a hope that one of them can impact the team. Even if it is just some defensive intensity that spreads throughout the team or valuable depth to rest scorers, the impact doesn't necessarily mean averaging a triple double.

I'll be happy with a 500 record in Big East play. Im not high on any team with Jason Clark and Hollis Thompson as our best players..

I think if the metric is "most like Jeremy Lamb" I think DaJuan has to score the highest. People forget how backbreaking it was for teams to try and stop Jeff and Roy only to have DaJuan there to make daggers. UNC especially found out the hard way. Also, reaching back into my memory for an interesting "freshman impact example", inserting Chris Wright back into the lineup for the 08 BET was I think a big reason why we coasted to the championship game. Nova and WVU seemed exasperated that all of a sudden Georgetown had a super-quick guard in the lineup.

The handicapper apparently forgot that DaJuan scored 20 points in his freshman year against UNC in the final 8. That had as much to do as anything with "getting us to the top", like Lamb did.
Either that, or he isn't a true Hoya fan.
And judging by that absolutely ridiculous post, I'm willing to bet the latter

And the handicapper may have forgotten that Austin's freshman year was 2008, not 2007.
