Not sure what to think. Allen, you know better than anyone. But the level of competition in those two games looked pretty weak. A lot of play well under the rim. I hope Josh is a backup plan at this point. Landon was top 10 in the post last year, but this year they seem pretty average. Sidwell was beating Wilson 21-0 after the first quarter, so I don't think they're that good either (despite winning that game in double OT), although they lost at the buzzer to Archbishop Carroll (a WCAC team, coached by Reggie Williams). Sidwell will be playing some good competition this Friday in the Gonzaga Classic. A lot of good, top 50 ranked teams in there.

Lots of coaches in the building at Gonzaga tonight for the Gonzaga DC Classic, including Dalonte Hill and David Cox. Curtis Malone and Mikael Hopkins were also there. 3 nationally ranked teams in the tournament, and a real strong field in general.
Hart had 18 and 13 tonight for Sidwell as they blew out the #5 team in Chicago, St. Rita.

Eric Bossi's thoughts:
The 6-foot-5 Hart, is jacked. He's a strong wing who plays with a high level of physicality and is a playmaker out of the high post. He finds cutters, drives aggressively to the rim and is one of the best rebounding wings in the class of 2013. He mentioned offers from N.C. State, Georgetown, VCU, UMass, Penn State, Xavier and Penn. The Hoyas and Wolfpack both had coaches in to watch.

He seems to have a fairly similar game to Jabril. Maybe a weaker handle, maybe a better shooter. But they're roughly the same size and they're pretty physical for their position.

This is a GOOD thing! Give me 7 Jabril's, I'll take 'em all. Hart has a sweet stroke and may be a tad better athlete (vertical wise), I like the kid as a prospect and he'll only get better, he's a sophomore.

Hey, no argument here. DSR, Jabril, and Hart strikes me as a solid foundation for our backcourt. I'd love a true point guard with size (an Ennis or a Rysheed Jordan type) but we could roll with that group and be more than fine.

JTIII came to see him last night against Sagemont (FL) in the third place game of the Gonzaga DC Classic. A lot of other head coaches in the building last night between the 3rd place game and the final. I'm pretty sure Georgetown is a big leader for him at this point and, more likely than not, he'll be a Hoya. I've been really impressed with his development since last year. He's leaned up, gotten taller and much, much stronger. He's slashing hard to the basket, and playing pretty physical defense, with a lot more explosiveness than last year. The thing that's really impressed me though is his rebounding. He's one of the best rebounding 2G/wing types that you'll see.

Allerik Freeman may be an unfair comparison. He's top 10 in the class of 2013.

Dave Telep/ESPN:
Josh Hart (Washington, D.C./Sidwell Friends) 2013, SF, 6-3, 180 pounds Since the summer, Hart’s bulked up and his game is hedging toward the small forward position. An absolute worker on the glass, Hart takes his medicine and is good from the line. He’s one of those guys who loves to play. Mix in his perimeter stroke, stronger frame and the attention to detail in the lane and you’ve got the makings of a player who will receive high-level attention. Hart has offers from Georgetown, NC State, VCU, Penn State, Xavier, UMass and Penn. The head coach that’s most involved? Georgetown’s John Thompson.

Sounds like he's becoming a guy I need to pay more attention to. As a 2 he'd fill JC's role. I mentioned Freeman cause of similar size and apparently game, except for the stroke. I've heard Freeman's stroke could be better.
Hart is already a top 75 kid, so it's not like he's under the radar. Considering the schollie situation, If he pops now, do Hoyas take him?

A 6'3" small forward? No thank you, no thank you, no thank you. Now if he grows to 6'5" or 6'6" (and I note that's he described as 6'5" by Eric Bossi - so which is it?), which I assume is a possibility, that's another story. I've had my fill of dwarf small forwards. I don't want to see one ever again, unless he's a freak like Perry McDonald.

I think he'd play the two unless he grows.

I think he'll end up a Hoya but as a later commit. I don't think we take him if he pops now.
