Sue early, sue often. Preferably in NY where the Big East has its headquarters and where 3 Big East Schools pay millions in salaries. While the suit should be in Federal Court, a home field advantage still exist, and the last thing the Big East should allow is Pitt to have a federal court in Pennsylvania hear the case. Neither Pitt nor Syracuse should be allowed out of the league any sooner than their commitment allows. Interestingly, 27 months from now is December 20th. We should force Pitt and Syracuse to play in the Big East regular season in 2014 then drop them before the conference tournament keeping them from participating in a post season football game in 2014-15. Oh well!

I think it likely spells the end of the NCAA. There is no reason for the super-conferences to remain members. except the fact that the schools have other sports programs that would have a hard time with schedules, post-season tournaments, etc. Can't imagine the ncaa would willingly accomodate those teams if the football powers blow it off

As Mark Twain once said, "the news of our demise is somewhat premature". Hey, good for the FB schools -- whether they are staying by choice? or because they have no choice... I'll still keep them. We shall see. Glad they had a nice dinner, but this still feels shaky to me. THANKS DFW for posting that update. HOYA SAXA!!

Looks like the B12 has no choice but to stay intact (with or without A&M), no?

And Uconn didnot attend the BE football dinner meeting in New York. We now know who the new Fredo is.

Looks like the B12 has no choice but to stay intact (with or without A&M), no? Does this mean ACC stays at 14? Goes after Texas? ND? If it forgets UConn and nothing else unexpected happens, this buys the BE -- and us -- a few more years. Add Memphis and hoops doesn't even suffer that much. But the instability will remain.

I feel like adding Memphis is a must now. Any chance we can lure away one of the strong Big 12 teams? If not, who else can the Big East go after?

Looks like the ACC really jumped the gun. ESPN is reporting Missouri will accept the offer to the SEC. If the ACC would have waited they could have invited Texas, Oklahoma, and the two side kicks (Texas Tech and Oklahoma State), but instead they got Pitt and Syracuse.

Article is updated. Everyone but UConn gave commitment, and they are still looking to go ACC.

I don't think the ACC will invite UConn now that the PAC12 is not expanding and Texas is still out there. If Texas goes to the ACC so does Texas Tech. The ACC is also interested in adding Notre Dame so they may wait for that ship to sail as well.

Texas and Notre Dame are the two jewels out there that the ACC will now try to target. They can slow play UCONN as they feel out the situation with Texas/Notre Dame.
