I think it is up to West Virginia and Louisville how this plays out. They have more leverage to negotiate the terms than any of the other Big East schools.

This move to superconferences sure puts an end to the "student" in student-athlete. They will be traveling all the time and missing much class, but maybe that is the norm.

I think it likely spells the end of the NCAA. There is no reason for the super-conferences to remain members.

If we don't move quickly, as in TODAY, we risk losing teams like Notre Dame, Temple, and Memphis to other conferences. We risk not being compelling enough for Butler to move conferences. Get'er Duhn! No none of these teams have other options. That's why we can take as long as we want to set up the big east basketball only conference since it's a last resort where no one has any better options. There is no rush to get this going. Whether we start this up now or 5 years from now nothing will change.

fball/bball schools - l'ville, cinn, wvu, usf, notre dame, tcu, baylor, kansas, k.state, missou, uconn, rutgers.
remaining schools: gtown, nova, prov, sju, marq, shu, depaul, and either xavier or butler
let notre dame keep the nbc deal, big east starts it's own network, and conference remains strong in ball. may even become better in football because possible sanctions at miami and unc.

ND isn't joining Big East football. Mizzo is headed to the SEC, UConn & Rutgers to the ACC.

Sounds good but too many are getting ready to bolt and too many won't join. But why not try EVERYTHING?

Jay Bilas, on the John Thompson Show today said he thought ND would end up in the ACC - he didn't say when.

Rutgers would give the current ACC members at least one new team that they would have a prayer of beating.

Anyone else surprised that WVU has been reportedly rebuffed by the ACC and SEC? MUCH better football program than Rutgers or Uconn and solid hoops. Big state school in the right region...I guess small and poor geography was the kicker.

A demographic that relies on using an old coat hanger for an antenna in lieu of cable/satellite/fios didn't help either.
