Top 25 player in Class of 2012. This article notes that we've offered. hardwoodelite.com/article.php?a=60This kid really blew up this summer. Not sure what our chances are, but worth keeping an eye on.

Again, props to the staff for being in on such a wide range of highly talented prospects, especially in the 2012 class. Hopefully we land some of these guys, and I'm excited to see who becomes a Hoya.

RDF was touting this kid earlier this summer and was begging for the Hoyas to offer.

This kid is a lottery pick waiting to happen. I loved Sam Thompson and athletes like that--but Sam wasn't nearly as polished as this kid--House to me is a guy who could end up being an NBA All Star if he keeps his head on straight--and he steals show anytime he plays.

I'm surprised by how many athletic swing men we're recruiting considering we have Greg and Otto in the 2011 class. Between House, Warren, and Pollard - that's a murderers row of 6'7''-ish athletes. Wonder if JT3 intends to mix up his lineups (bunch of 6'8'' athletes on the floor with a guard or two thrown in) or if it's just a matter of recruiting the best players we can and letting it shake out that way.
We're probably a long shot to land any of the three aforementioned recruits, but good job by the staff staying in it.

He's a good player..saw him in Orlando and he can really score the ball. I see him as a pure two-guard

Archie Goodwin may as well be on this list too for '12, and then maybe Domingo/Freeman in 2013 class as well (tho they are a little shorter). Again, as you say here and others have said, we are in the mix for a lot of elite talent. We won't land them all, but we don't need to. Just one of these guys plus Kyle in '12 would be amazing, then say a Noel and a Jordan/Ennis in 2013. Sorry, daydreaming during lunch.

Recruiting for fans is part day dreaming Biff, so no need to apologize.
I see Al Freeman as a Deron Williams type-combo guard. Troy Williams is more of a priority then Domingo too--Domingo is a good shooter but a bit timid/reserved and doesn't possess the athleticism of the other kids involved but can shoot the ball.
You can't land elite talent if you don't pursue it--and more importantly put yourself in position to realistically pursue it-which is making cuts on player lists. Next step--in-homes and then surviving that cut and setting up official visits.

I was thinking the exact same thing as I was reading this thread, but Daytona makes an interesting point - perhaps the staff sees one or two of these guys as 2 guards., which would make a lot of sense, since it seems unlikely that they would be recruiting over Otto already.

I think House would definitely be a 2. Warren would probably be a 2 or 3, but he's really just a scorer. Pollard is just a complete, all-around freak who we would be silly not to recruit. For the most part though, I think they are in a different mold than Otto. Otto is really a facilitator and play maker, whereas these guys seem more like pure scorers.

They also are taking into account that one of these SF's may not be here, i.e., turn pro early or transfer. Staff can't afford to be caught with pants down anymore.

Right, id. I feel like recruiting at this level has been a (slow) learning process for JT3. Since the addition of Kirby, it's been about extending that net and putting the team in a position that one departure by transfer or early entry does not hurt it (for example, Monroe's). The only way to do that at the top level in today's game is by continuing to recruit top talent year after year and not sit back when you land a top recruit. Chances are that that recruit will leave early. You better have a good back-up plan if you want to stay at the top of the rankings.

There is another real benefit to making a bunch of guys' Top 5 lists -and that is sometimes recruits cut schools from their list when the school signs other recruits who play the same position. So, while you might not be the leader heading into a signing period, you might emerge the winner just by virtue of attrition.
Just more reason to be as active as possible with as many elite players as possible. You just never know how it shakes out even if you think you are a long shot to start.

also it gets you in the door to future recruits and establishes relationships with coaches/aau programs. DING DING DING DING DING We have a winner! One of the most overlooked and under-appreciated aspects of running successful programs over the long term -- building up relationships, contacts and goodwill... as many/much as possible. It is apparent there has been a significant change in GU recruiting, starting with the hiring of Kirby and the releasing of some other guys. JT3 can't do it by himself, and now he has some experienced and capable guys to help out. The results already speak for themselves. Like all the rest of you, I hope like hell we can convert a couple of these outstanding 2012 recruits to commitments. But whether we do or not in the short run, we are heading in the right direction long term.

Right Saxa,
the staff is smart enough to know they're not getting most of these guys or even serious consideration from some of them, but being on players' list keeps the brand name in kids' mouths and in the media (if they accurately report the kids list).

This kid is will play in the NBA. Looks like we are on his final list of six. Need to get him on campus ASAP.
"House has visited Houston before so he continues to build the relationship with the staff and school. He also previously visited Baylor and he updated NBE the current list of schools he is considering that are active in his recruitment.
“U of H, Baylor, Georgetown, Ohio State, Kansas and Texas,” said House of the schools recruiting him, adding that there are “no favorites right now.”"
