You would think that Goodman would get Vee's name right at least: "Samford"? Really? And is there an Emeka Okafor at Western Illinois?

I was hoping this was not the case that Vee was transferring. I think this kid was never given a chance to fail. There was games where I thought Austin, Chris, Jason and etc should have been benched. So why wasn't Vee never really given that chance to be benched based on game performance. I have posted about the lack of playing time for Vee. I have racked my brain high and low about why Vee was not given the chance to play. Maybe it was his passing skills. I just hope if the reports are true, And if it is true I hope it is due to him finding better opportunities elsewhere and nothing to due with suggestions and persuasion from staff members. I don't want to believe Gtwon has resorted to the Calapari tactics of managing a basketball team and that winning is the sole purpose of athletics at Gtown. I have been a Gtown fan for long time based on the the fact that I thought the program operated as teachers of men. Trying to show order and discipline to young men as it prepared them for life. I thought JT2 andJT3 embodied that philosophy. I always thought that they were fair men. I totally understand that players sometimes don't work out, that the program doesn't fit the needs of each player. But from my view from 50 feet, and I admit I don't have a front seat view, it just doesn't sit right with me. I will continue to be a Gtown based on its body of work. But these reports, that I hope go unfounded, doesn't sit well with me. Dude, you got some other issues you need to work out. You really think this is about JT3 not being "fair" or not being a "teacher of men?" C'mon. It's about playing time and nothing more. And even if it's not, it's certainly not about something more nefarious. If this doesn't sit well with you and will cause you to view the program in a different light, then that's on you and the program doesn't need you as a fan. You can go root for St. Leo's. No, you need to read. I specifically stated I no nothing od the situation and somehow I got issues because I address something about the program that I find not to be handle correct;y. I don't need your permission on how or what to be a fan about. I just post my opinion and read others. All my views are on me. I don't expect anyone or any organization to make changes based on my sole opinion. I seems you have issues with people voice an opinion. SO you need to get a life.

Not a surprise at all.
This was coming since midseason when Vee stopped getting PT. I am confident this was not a case of JT3 running anyone out of the program, Vee's playing time gradually decreased as the need for Markel to play back-up point became more important. That was not going to change much next season with Markel and JC starting so the writing was on the wall, Vee was not going to get major minutes and he knew it.
There is no question Vee can be successful somewhere else, but he never really appeared comfortable on the court except when the ball was in his hands. Unfortunately, JT3's offense does not lend itself to one guy dominating the ball to make plays, especially if he is not a natural PG. So good luck to Vee, I am pretty sure he will land on his feet, he was a solid player and seemed like a good kid.

Vee, very good friend of mine. We became very close friends on Facebook. I am quite aware of his concerns. I know that he will move on and have a very productive basketball career. He would really look great in the Kentucky blue and white representing his home town of Lexington....As I said to him he is one of TNTC Hoyas that became ex-hoyas.

I think we can change the thread title from "alleged" considering Vee himself is alleging it.
Good luck to you, Vee. There will be many Hoya fans rooting for you.

I'm sad to see Vee go! I had the pleasure of meeting him at the banquet Tuesday. He was very sweet, but shy! I told him he was my favorite Hoya and that every time he got in the game, something good happened! I also told him every time he scored I'd yell: "Vee for President"! He was a bit embarrassed, but he laughed! He even posed for a picture and as we finished chatting, I told him I was looking forward to seeing him and the team play next year...he just smiled and said "Thank You". Knowing what I do now, I feel kinda dumb saying that! I wish Vee nothing but the best!

I'm guessing not shy, but polite. He couldn't tell you he was leaving.

It's clear it was a question of PT. He was not getting, and would not get, as much as he thought he deserved. There are opportunities elsewhere, just like Wattad, Nikita, Vernon and JR pursued and got. Again, best of luck to him...

In terms of a pick up for next year, I wouldn't hate to see us go after Jamal Lewis at Sidwell (offers from BC, LSU, GW) or Joe McDonald at Landon (UVA, Xavier, etc.). Both local guys, both can play, both would probably jump at a GU offer. Lewis might help with Britt as well, since they play together with Jenkins and Fenner on DCA.

In some ways, this is like the VM situation. Didn't get enough PT and decides to leave the season before he might have gotten some solid minutes and made some solid contributions, since he would be needed. (Obviously, Vee got a lot less PT than VM in his first 2 years).
I find this disappointing, but not surprising. While I really want to blame JTIII big time for this one, we don't know all the facts and reasons behind the departure and behind JTIII's decision to keep him on the bench so much, so I will just let it go and add my best wishes to Vee. Hope he lands at a good program, gets the opportunity to make meaningful contributions, and takes advantage of those opportunties by playing well.

man, i wished JTIII would have used him a little more last year. i saw good things from that kid coming in the next 2 years. so we basically are left with 2 guards now. great

I guess we will never know why III didn't play him this year.It bothered me all year about his lack of PT and I thought this would happen. Obviously, III didn't think he was the best fit for the program. Go figure. I don't buy the homesick theory, if he saw a future here, he would have stayed.

This is not 100% shocking yet it is dissapointing. As most in this thread I wish Vee the best. I dont think he was ever going to be a great player but He really never had that chance to blosssom into what he could be. Vee was confident and not afraid to make a play, thats all you can ask. I blame three to an extent for not giving him more time on the court. There were two other players I was hoping would transfer not Vee. Oh well. Good luck buddy.
