I'm pretty sure that if they are making that many, by definition, they are capable of making that many.
(Unless they are "enhanced" a la Villanova 1985.)

I wonder if making 20 threes in a game last year is something the committee considered when selecting at-large teams for this year's tournament. Did Georgetown's rout vs Duke move them from the 7 line to the 6 line? I never said it did. That's a strawman arguments. What the experts, Bilassssss, etc keep making it seem is that there shooting way above what they are capable of. You've alluded to the same thing in your post. And that's incorrect. 12 3s a game. 20 3s a game. This team is capable of shooting those numbers because they have the pure shooters. VCU's statistics are very different when you compare the regular season and the NCAA tournament. That's a fact. It's not wrong to suggest that they were a bubble team. They were. Teams are selected on what they did over an entire season. Not by "what they are capable of doing" on any given night. Especially when you point to something that happened last season. VCU is on a great run right now. Let's not try and pretend that they had a great regular season. Pitt had a great regular season. They had a poor NCAA Tournament. It happens both ways.
