This doesn't change the Georgetown game but VCU can play. I'm still here in Chicago and they are good. I saw the open practice with VCU and I came away very impressed. They were getting after it.
The Ohio loss should stand alone as embarassing. Maybe the way the Davidson loss happened was embarrassing but that was another team that was good enough to win if you didn't put them away.
VCU is making a FF type run. Davidson almost did. Ohio looked like your run-of-the-mill upset specials that was never going to compete in the R32.

Outstanding young coach that I doubt will return to VCU. Hope that UTenn, Ga Tech, Arkansas, and NC State noticed. Shaka Smart is for real.

He has won a few games in a row in the crapshoot that is the NCAA tournament. I'd look for a larger body of work winning for more than 2 years. But I am just a backseat AD, so I may be wrong.

A great day for the Hoya faithful.
Not the greatest day it could be, but still a great day.

See, and what makes it even better is that a big east team beat them, so we can't even be a tiny bit upset that the big east wasn't doing well in the tourney!

Big East still the best conference, but not showing up well this weekend.

Officials getting booed off the court at the half...ND boards are going to be amusing.

Big East still the best conference, but not showing up well this weekend. Right now it's: BE: 2 ACC: 2 B10: 2 SEC: 2 MWC: 2 Big 12: 1 Pac 10: 1 A-10: 1 Horizon: 1 CAA: 1 Pretty evenly distributed. If FSU holds off ND, ACC will be the most impressive (unfortunately), getting 3/4 of its tourney teams to the Sweet 16. Obviously, the BE was hoping for 5 or so teams in the Sweet 16 (based on seeding), but I still don't see another conference that has made a case that it's better than the Big East at this point (at all). Obviously, though, it will be a disappointment if we fail to get a Final 4 team. So much rests on UConn right now (ugh).

Also interesting that the 2 BE teams to advance were both 9-9, and seeds 9 and 11, in the conference. Says something about the conference's depth.
On the other hand, the only BE teams to advance to the Sweet 16 beat fellow BE teams in the second/"third" round.

ND coming back to win would be an absolute disaster.

With Florida State up 20 with under 14 minutes to go, it looks like only 2 Big East teams left. With Notre Dame not being a good "come from behind team," this game may be over. However, I must admit the only thing to bring a partial smile to my face the last 2 days was Pittsburgh and Syracuse losing.

Well, at least Georgetown isn't alone among Big East teams having gut-wrenching losses. In fact, we're probably not even in the top tier. I'd put us a step below Louisville, Pitt and ND at this point...
