Rumor has it that the SID in Columbus now insists that he be referred to as "THE cheating head coach."

He should get at least as much penalty as did the players, if not more. OSU has got some big ones to propose two scrimmages as the punishment.

Actually think that the players who were able to play an entire season without punishment should lose all of their eligibility--and Pryor publicly lied as well--and this is nothing new for THE Ohio State--dating back to Clarett, Troy Smith, and fact Tressel's niece was the "tudor" for Seantrel Henderson --which in turn was why Henderson continued to list them as a favorite even though he had no intention of ever going there.
This is a dirty program--and always has been. No different then majority of big time athletic programs--but when you get caught and lie--then you need to pay.
I'd suggest that Ohio State gets banned from postseason play for a year, Tressel is banned for a season.
UNC should get the Death Penalty and have to start over. Davis nanny cheating for players academically, the player agent tie in--with an Assistant (known dirty coach John Blake) funneling players to Agent Parties and if Reggie Bush deal can get USC 2 years banned from postseason, loss of 30 scholarships--what should 16 players with known tie ins to illegal activity warrant--DEATH PENALTY.
If USC doesn't win their appeal--they should sue the NCAA seeing how light the punishment has been for Uconn basketball, Tennessee Basketball, and Ohio State football.

I have anointed myself the personal spokesman for the three fine institutions mentioned above. On behalf of UConn, UT and TOSU, I would merely point out that our punishment was severe, severe I say, compared to the "punishment" meted out to the current BCS champion, whose name I forget.

Upped his own suspension to 5 games. Apparently to help the players deal with their situation and because it was his responsibility.

So let me get this straight:
1. Tressel knew of these guys being in trouble April of '10? 2. Tressel allowed them to play all year--allowed them to lie--remember Pryor said he had nothing to do with anything publicly. 3. Tressel bashes them to media prior to Bowl Game--one which they wouldn't be in if they didn't have the players involved all year btw. 4. Tressel influences the suspensions to take place the following year so these guys can all play in bowl game they shouldn't in a season they shouldn't have been able to play. 5. AJ Green gets 4-5 game suspension for selling his jersey to someone. 6. Dez Bryant lied about meeting an agent at Deion Sanders and gets banned from CFB. 7. Dillon Baxter of USC missed a game last year for taking a $5 dollar golf cart ride across campus from a USC student who might/might not be an "agent"? 8. UNC had an Assistant as a known "runner" for an Agent on staff-and their HC had his nanny "assist" the players with homework. Nothing about them-hell NCAA is all over Cliff Ellis and Coastal Carolina more then UNC.
Makes sense to me.
Tressel should be suspended all season.
The 5 players involved should be suspended all year-and Pryor/Posey have RS years available-they shouldn't be granted--because it's a punishment--not injury. If you want to break rules--NCAA needs to put foot up your ass and punish you--that means Pryor/Posey can leave now try and go Supplemental in NFL or they can sit out a year and not be evaluated and hurt their future. Pryor's also been able to drive luxury vehicles when his car is getting serviced-trade up to tricked out trucks/cars--and has been cited for driving violations 6 times--3 in OH and 3 out of state. Car Dealer says it's "norm" to lend people his vehicle--and NCAA goes--okay--that's good enough for us.
Either be something or don't. It's a complete joke and I wish nothing but awful things to THE joke of College Football. Don't worry though-their army of talking heads will protect them--the hypocrite Chris Spielman, Kirk Herbstreit who acts "tough" and then does the political work they need during season on air, Robert Smith who is a complete tool and hypocrite (I'm upset I can't be a student athlete.....blah blah blah, and then he applies early for NFL Draft--what a scholar!). Clark Kellogg--who makes Dick Vitale look like he hates Duke. It just is sickening.

Tressel offers to sit out five games - what a guy! Doubtless the jellyfish at the NCAA will take him up on his offer.

Tressel's always been dirty--dating back to his days at Youngstown State. Guy looks/talks like a complete tool, so people assume he's clean or has no awareness of what's going on. Maybe some of the Youngstown Mob can bail him out of this one as they've done before.

Urban Meyer to OSU rumors start now or later?
Too bad Lord Sweater Vest's mob ties couldn't bail him out of this one. Oh well.

Urban Meyer to OSU rumors start now or later? You're too late. Beano Cook floated that conjecture a couple of weeks ago.
