Every game counts immensely at this time of the season.
Want an example? If the Big East tournament were held today, the #13-ranked UConn Huskies would be in the Tuesday bracket as the #9 seed.
That's why a win over USF getting to 10-5 is huge and not being one of three or four 9-6 teams hitting the last two weeks.
And 11-5 would be even better.

Agree 100%. Every win counts in this league, especially in February.

Time to push harder--gotta protect homecourt and finish strong--which means playing strong/tough against a physical Cincinnati team.

My annual 2 cents comments....
Live in Cincy, Hoya fan since 1984!
Gates can be an issue if allowed to be. He can be physical but really doesn't want to bang. I see Cronin trying to get him involved early. If he doesn't then Gates looses focus and desire. Get 2 quick fouls on Gates and he will become timid. He will resort to taking shots outside paint.
The guards are what are carrying UC at the moment. But they can be very hot or very cold. Defensively they want to press and press hard. Stay away from corners and sidelines and Hoyas will be fine. PersonallyI think Cincinnati knows they cannot stop DC3 without pressure. They will also be so intent on stopping the backdoor that the 3s will be there for Hoyas.
Julian and Nate can be big in this game offensively. The bigs for UC foul a LOT. They will also have to box out. UC will charge boards with 5 players.
UC is very atheletic. They want to dunk it on you when not throwing up 3s. Bottom line, rattle their cage and they will forget about offensive sets and begin o play street ball.

Each of these last 3 games is more important than the prior game with the bottleneck in the standings. It'd be tough to say that it's imperative to win out but starting with a W against Cincy is very important. Let's go HOYAS!

Totally agree about rebounding being the key. The 3 will come and go (see Freeman) but the effort on the boards is a must. Last game our big men combined for 3 fewer rebounds than our guards. This team's rotation does not have a lot of height. We need to compensate that with effort and positioning. I have watched Cincy play several times and they do get after the boards.
