This is a very important game, not only for seeding purposes in the BET, but also because it is the first of the Bearclaw games this year, as my work colleague and friend, who is a UC alum (top swimmer for them) contest the game over a bearclaw. I'm hungry, and I want to win! Go Hoyas!!!

This week is very exciting and important for the seniors as they will be playing their last 2 home games vs cincy and cuse for senior day. I expect both games to be full house with a lot of local DMV people coming to see AF and CW in their last 2 home games (especially saturday)
In anticipation for senior day, all our team needs to do is focus on taking care of business on wednesday. Freeman will probably not be 100% until Saturday and I hope he can "warm up" some vs cincy.
JV should also be looking to make a statement in his last 2 home games as well
There will be A LOT of HOOPLA------TIME TO FOCUS

I'll be in South Beach for both this game and Saturday's game. Any thoughts on a good place to watch both? Anyone want to meet up?

Is Scout their main board, or are they independent like us? If so, link?

really wish this game was at 7 instead of 9. I suppose the crowd will be there early though and well liquored up which could lead to a good atmosphere.
any thoughts on what the students will do? hoping the potential 11 30 return to campus doesn't convince any to stay at home.
I completely agree with the statements above about the importance of this game. With 5 loses there is not a lot of breathing room in the conference standings. Would really like to keep that 3 ranking and meet ND on friday night at the garden...

Cincy will be plenty motivated. We are standing between them and an NCAA berth at this point, so you know they will come out ready to go.
I feel like the late start tomorrow night should help us. Students really should be geared up for this one, and there's no excuse about not being able to make the game because you have a late class. If getting home at 11:30pm is too late for a college-aged student, then I think college must have changed drastically since I graduated.
Hoping Austin has had time to rest and recover. We are really going to need him to get back on track if we are going to do serious damage the rest of the year. Chris has been great the past few games, but he's going to need help.
Also hoping our defensive intensity returns as well. We have not been great the last few times out, and a re-commitment to buckling down and getting after it on the defensive end instead of worrying about schemes (much like after the Pitt game) should be the focus.

really hope the students prove me wrong but i don't have any evidence this year to suggest they'll be excited about cincinatti on a wednesday...
(please prove me wrong...need it loud and energetic in the booth)

Interesting....Gottlieb today picks AF as BE player of the year. This after two of his lesser (at least scoring-wise) games of the year. I don't remeber Gottlieb as being a Hoya fan.

I'm so love-hate on Gottlieb. He inevitably gets on our bandwagon every year at some point, but in some horribly misguided way. He trashed us after a win (L'ville) then after SUcks, he was all rah-rah Hoyas, dangerous team, etc. Now, this. Love the positive attention, but the negative is it's like he's the kiss of death.
Also, solid ticket deal for tomorrow is 2 upper deck seats and HoyaBlue shirts for $30. Hopefully that gets the YAs like me in there (would if I could, but too far a drive from C'ville.)

Gottlieb is a moron. He also picked UConn as a 2 seed..... yesterday. Most of these guys pinball all over the place over the course of a season, especially those whose main goal is to generate attention, phone calls, listeners, etc. They are asked for so many opinions in all the various forums (TV, radio, internet, etc.) from week to week that some of them can't remember what they said yesterday, much less last week.
