if we take care of business (at least 3-2 to end) we're pretty much assured a top 4 seed. & unless Louisville REALLY plays well, we're shaping up to stay at 3.

Gray is good for a 9-point lead over the Jayhawks at the half. I wouldn't bet on that lead holding up, but so far so good for K-State.

18 pts half way through the 2nd - does that mean the 9 pt lead didn't hold down?

Someone get Bob Knight off the air. My ipod died during my workout so I was forced to listen to him if I wanted to watch the game. Can he be any less entertaining? I thought I was going to fall asleep on the treadmill to the sound of his monotonous voice.
But, KState played with heart tonight. They fought for every lose ball, every rebound. Kansas just didn't seem to know there was a game going on.

Totally disagree on Knight. He had a few Madden-like moments tonight, but the guy knows his basketball. Also provided the gem of "Kansas St. has to get over this win against Kansas. They can't be handing out candy bars and Coca-Cola." Pales in comparison to milkshakes and sandwiches though...

K-State's auditioning for the role of that 11 seed that could just as easily make an Elite Eight run as lose by 20 in the first round.
WVU gave too much to Cuse tonight, let the Orange play the kind of game where they can be successful--getting turnovers and getting out in transition.
Bilas hit on what a lot of commentators have been pointing out this year--Syracuse isn't as long a team, and the defenders themselves just aren't as good, so the 2-3 zone isn't as imposing. WVU didn't have it tonight though--lots of soft passes and honestly some fraidy-cat decision making against that zone. 13 Cuse steals and WVU shooting 6-25 inside the arc isn't a recipe for a road W. Afraid with WVU's remaining schedule they could be looking at a Tuesday BET game.
I said it the other day, Cuse isn't bad when they try. Just need to try a lot harder than last year because the talent isn't what it was then.
BTW, glad ESPN got some video evidence from a previous game to prove that Deniz Kilicli can hit that hook shot, because YIKES!

Always about Magoo. The guy is all lovey dovey when he's interviewed by ESPN, but the local media he always blasts. What a tool.

Amazing how the writers mentioning that Louisville has beaten Cuse seven games in a row (in the recap of the seventh game) is considered a personal insult to the career of Boeheim, but I guess that's the way it goes with Magoo. I always thought that was just journalistic reporting of relevant facts.

30 years later and Whiny Magoo still cant seem to get it through his head that he is coaching 18-21 year olds and that maybe the lesson for them shouldn't be, "Wanh, wanh, wanh."

I agree about their length, but their biggest problem, IMO, is that they dont have that deadly 3 point shooter. We can hate them all we want, but Rautins and McNamara and even Devendorf seem to make about 50-60% of their open 3s. Triche can get hot, and has been lately, but he is very streaky. To me, they are about 5-6 seed at best, but I wouldnt be surprised if they went on a late season run either.

You keep touting those 21 wins, Jimmy, and the three or four of them that are actually against good teams. God, he is such a tool! Does anyone have a link to the article that got his panties in such a bunch? Something tells me I would really enjoy reading that.

In the few games I've seen SUcks play, their half court offense has been an issue. They rebound well, but this year's offense, from the eye test, is not as good as previous editions.

When a good big east team beats another good (and sometimes better) big east team 7 straight times, it is definitely noteworthy, and speaks to some matchup issues. It's one thing when Pitt beats USF 10 times in a row.

What I got from the KSU win was that there's not one dominant team in college basketball this year. That means that there's an opening to take it all if some team with lots of senior leadership wants it.

I was thinking the same thing. When KSU won that game, it started creeping in my head for the first time that we have as good a chance to win the national championship as any team in the country. They got smoked by a very inconsistent team.
