3. Syracuse losing 5 in a row is such a deliciously tempting thought, I feel like Eric Cartman about to serve Scott Tennorman his bowl of chili. I laughed when I read this. Just awesome.

The sad thing is, Boz shouldn't need to write his post.
I dream of a day when he doesn't have to; when it's no longer a discussion of whether to root for Syracuse but that it's something we don't even think about. We just hate.

I'm kinda disappointed so many people actually acknowledge that game is kind of occuring, props to Boz for not even caring when it is I'm with SF, its always hate for them. I.E. I was angry with ESPN all night last night because I had to look at Sean McDonough across the court

I think I just spotted our buddy Karl Hess laboring up and down the court in Oxford, Miss tonight for the Ole Miss - UK game.

If it's a small meteor, hit the Orange side.

Yeah because point shaving is the only logical explanation for them falling apart?
I wish it were point shaving but the fact of the matter is that they are just flawed.

Sports anchors in Rochester and Syracuse have wind of the rumors, so we should be hearing something positive or negative. An ESPN employee just tweeted on it too.
Anyone know the potential penalty? Pretty heinous rumor if false.

I haven't double-checked the stat, but the comments section of that link states that Cuse is 5-13 against the spread this year.

It would not be these recent losses. Point shaving almost always involves games where a team was a big enough favorite that key players could control winning the game without covering the spread. Don't see how anyone could be sure that the subs would have enough influence over the score.

That's the thing, BMartin. We're dealing with subs, but it is weird that Sutherland and Waiters have been in the dog house recently and have not seen the floor as much.
Jardine/Waivers would make some sense since they are related and some of the rumors have spun to involve that relative who was wrapped up in the cafeteria scandal.
Anyway, pure speculation, but it is getting a lot of noise right now. Scoop denied the allegations via Twitter. Now, it has been tweeted to Thamel, which probably means this thing has jumped the shark.

William and Mary W 63-60 Michigan W 53-50 Georgia Tech W 80-76 NC State W 65-59 Iona W 83-77 With all of these games coming in either upstate NY or AC, I'm willing to bet they covered none of these games.

The rumor-mongers saying that "ESPN will air the story tomorrow" makes me think this point-shaving thing is pure tosh. If there were something to report, the sports media would be all over it NOW. Also, as satisfying as it would be to gloat over the b-ball apocalypse that would result for the Orange if the rumors were true, it would ultimately be a very bad thing for college ball, the Big East, and our rivalry if the speculation turns out to be anything other than complete nonsense. Completely agree, and it would be more rewarding if they just sucked at basketball naturally

I agree. Good points, but it would make for a great meltdown...
