Interesting. I thought speculation for a long time was that NC State leads. Anyway, that's some stiff competition.

No reason for him to take an official visit to NC state. He's been to that campus dozens of times if not hundreds. They are still in it but they can't be feeling too comfortable with all the bigs moving in.

Are you sure they are still in it? From what I've read this is the final five - but I have no inside knowledge. These days, sounds like UNC is the heavy favorite but who knows.

As of a couple weeks ago they were still in it. TJ has said that he'll probably make his decision in the spring and wouldn't use an official to NC State. I think it's more of a courtesy since NC State probably lost out once Sidney Lowe got fired.

That makes sense. Would be a great get for the Hoyas.

The rivals people said they were surprised he didn't commit to UNC when he went to his unofficial based on what they were hearing. Sounds like they're the ones to beat in this race.

Now they are saying he is actually going to take an official visit to NC State for the NC State-UNC football game. That's not a bad thing since it knocks off another school from getting an official visit provided that we are one of the 5.

Seems like he's definitely coming for a visit and seems real friendly with Jabril. Also has family in the area.

I just read through their whole correspondence. TJ seemed really interested in how things were going at Georgetown and Jabril was nothing but positive. I think we're seriously in the mix here.

More I see of this kid, more I like him. Looks like a legit 6'8 and he'd be a nightmare to defend at the SF spot in college. Not going to win any dunk contests, but his production speaks for itself the past few months.

I was thinking he looked 6'5". A very quick release on his set three point shots. Looks good to me. Knowing schools like Kansas and Kentucky have offered is really all you need to know.

Kinda reminds me of Antoine Walker and Paul Pierce. Very crafty around the bucket and looks deceptively athletic.

Pierce is a better comparison. Mercer was much more athletic, though I think TJ has a better jumper than Pierce at same stage. He's a baller like Pierce. Again...buckets!

He's the closest thing I've every seen to Paul Pierce. It doesn't matter how, at the end of games, he's going to give you 19-23 points. He can score in every way without being a great athlete
