My dream sub-heavy (and never will be seen) lineup just to see what happens:
1 - Markel 2 - Vee 3 - Hollis/Austin 4 - Henry 5 - Moses

The WVU game is as much of a must win game that a 16th game of the season can be a must win game. No question about it and no other way to look at it. Amazing.

We need this win in order to keep the wheels on the bus. I'll take an ugly win, but we know there's no cure for sucking like dominating. A solid week of practice leading up to this game makes me somewhat optimistic that the team that crushed Mizzou and Memphis will re-emerge.

Lose this one and the top 20 appears in the rear view mirror. Note to coaches: Hoya backers deserve better...what are u doing about it?

I Hope that jut like after temple coach spends the entire week on defense. Let the guys work on offense in their spare time. You can practice your shot by yourself, you can't practice defense by yourself.

For those attending the game, please know the women play Marquette at 2PM so swing over to McD and cheer them on as well!
That being said, let's knock the Mountaineers even further back into the stone age.

I am sure it has been mentioned plenty of time (my bad), but why exactly is the game at 11am?

You can practice your shot by yourself, you can't practice defense by yourself. I would have the guards practice defense against each other all week. The offense will make its appearance again (although practicing FTs is always a must). Defense is another story. If JT3 is going to go with the Big 3 in crunch time like vs. SJU, then have them practice against Vee, Markel and Hollis with a shot clock. If one of the Big 3 is slouching, switch the line-ups.

I think this is going to be a very tight game, but a bit higher scoring than St. John's, and Hoyas make the key shots in the end instead of missing them. So people will bitch and moan about it being ugly, but we'll be 2-2 with a chance to make a statement at the Pitt game. Man, the Big East season is just a lot more fun and intense than playing the Utah States of the world. Funny how it hits you over the head every January!

It is so hard to win on the road in this conference. Pitt nudged Prov by 4 last night, and WVa edged Depaul by 2. SJU has won twicw on the road. That's about it so far. Our losses, while frustrating, are not that shocking. We need to protect the home court the next couple of games, we will be right back in the mix if we do.

My dream sub-heavy (and never will be seen) lineup just to see what happens: 1 - Markel 2 - Vee 3 - Hollis/Austin 4 - Henry 5 - Moses Markel is nowhere near ready to play in a meaningful game.

I don't know that that's true. I'm sure the same could be said about Moses. that's why I prefaced it the way I did. I'd love to get a glimpse of next year this year just out of sheer curiosity but I certainly don't think it will happen at any point this year.

I think Markel can perform. I don't think the team will do all that well when compared with Chris on the floor.

that was last november - it's a new year rooter and he is talking about next year's lineup whenever JC sits.
my worry for WVU is Hollis. he rolled his ankle with a few minutes left in the game, didn't come back in. for obvious reasons I erased the tape but I have to think coach would have at least put him in on offense at least. in NO position to speculate, but I am def in a position to worry, cause we need his experience with the O and his active D

I am sure it has been mentioned plenty of time (my bad), but why exactly is the game at 11am? By starting at 11am instead of noon, WVU's effective fan drunken obnoxiousness will be reduced by nearly 8%. I'd entertain a 9am start if I thought it could get any lower, but alas diminishing returns sets in so quickly...
