How about a different offensive scheme to counter their gimmick defense? They will really be surprised!!!

The offensive scheme works fine when you have a floor leader who sees the floor and runs the offense to create an open shot or an individual mismatch. Your point guard is not supposed to decide before the possession whether to shoot or drive or pass. He is supposed to be capable of making that decision when he forces the defense to move and then reads the best option.

I feel like the parent of a kid who did something bad. I'm not even mad, just really disappointed.
The sky fell a little yesterday.

Dan - I'm sorry to disagree strongly. It is a whole bunch of stuff which we have aired ad nauseum not simply "execution". Execution covers up our deficencies until the next time. Shootong 45-50% of your threes is great but do you think you can go thru a whole season with that %? Losers use that excuse! bigelephant: Nowhere did I say anything that denied this team has personnel deficiencies. That said, I disagree with you about yesterday. Yesterday's problem was poor execution. And thanks a bunch for your kind characterization of me as a loser. I guess the prior 3 posting losers all saw a different game as well. Where in the world did I refer to YOU as a loser? I SAID LOSERS USE THAT EXCUSE - MEANING A LOSING TEAM SEEMS TO BLAME EVERYTHING ON POOR EXECUTION. Which in turn means it is the PLAYERS fault. Not the coach, not the system, not the other team, not lack of attentiveness, not lack of hustle.not poor rebounding, not the lineup etc etc. It is a convenient way for the coach to blame the players - Adolf Rupp used to say "I told them what to do, and they didn't do it" - maybe yes, maybe no. Anyhow, Dan , I certainly wasn't directing the loser comment to you and I apologize if I was unclear or misunderstood. And I still think "not executing" is no where near any kind of an explanation for yesterday. Sorry

we can't be shocked. this is how this team has played the last 3 years. get pushed around by more aggressive teams more times than not. big east teams know how to play us. problem is, we don't adjust.
