Glad to see a little love for Adria. One of the things I love about the Lady Hoyas is that everybody contributes. It may not show up in the box score but every fight for a loose ball, every charge, every little thing helps.

Can't this be moved to the "nobody really gives a crap board"?

God forbid some people on this board care about more than just one team at their university. They've earned the recognition. If you don't give a crap, you don't have to read it. I'm sure this isn't the only thread not of interest to you.

Perhaps a board for things like "Women's Basketball". Like the football board, the Blue and Gray board, the watching paint dry board, etc.

If you read the front page of HoyaTalk, this board is for "Georgetown Basketball" not "Georgetown Men's Basketball." This thread is about Georgetown basketball and therefore it should stay here. As Philly said, if you have no interest in this ONE thread, you don't have to read it.

Right. Because this board is really about Women's Basketball. Women's basketball is fine. I'm just sick and tired of networks and major media trying to draw equivalency between NCAA basketball and NCAA women's basketball. Women's basketball appears on network Tv because the NCAA hijacks the networks into covering it. Left on its own, it would appear on local access Cable. Party On Geno.

One thread (out of thousands) on this board is drawing an equivalency? ESPN's Geno-fest is one thing, but they do the same thing in terms of coverage for high school programs nearing huge records.
Elvado, fortunately for you and others, this post is clearly marked so you can avoid it. And those of us who have interest in supporting all Hoya athletes (and all Hoya basketball players), would be perfectly happy to have you do so.

If, as I suspect, you don't, save your self-satisfaction for someone who is interested.

Elvado, proving once again what a stand-up, high-quality character he is, this time by taking a needless shot at the women's basketball team. Why? Because—hold onto your butts—we have ONE thread about them on our GEORGETOWN BASKETBALL message board. Nice.
I, for one, don't watch much women's basketball. But because they wear blue and gray, I root for the Georgetown ladies. So I am happy to come on here and see how they're doing.
Now if I wanted to watch paint dry, I would click on "Elvado" and then choose "View 100 most recent posts." Reading THAT would be torture.

Women's Basketball does not interest me and my personal opinion is that it does not belong on this Board. I am sorry that my expression of my opinion offends you my free-thinking friend.

Yes, you did take a shot at the team whether you meant it or not. By calling them unequal and unworthy of attention in a single thread, you took a needless and unwarranted shot at them and it offends a lot of us.
The board description specifically states "Since 1996, the home for discussions about GU Basketball." It does not denote gender. The Lady Hoyas are part of GU Basketball. End of story.

I suggested their very own board. However, I will clearly cop to calling them unequal. They are, whether you choose to admit that or not.

Yes, I've made it to a couple Hoyas home games a season for the last several seasons. Do I care about women's basketball writ large, outside of those games that directly impact G'town? Not so much, but thanks for asking.

Yeah, some of us do watch the games (when they're on TV). Why? Ah yes, a thread in which one poster challenges another to explain why he occasionally watches women's basketball on television. This is clearly the sort of important post that we need to save room for on the main board. Mods, I implore you to relegate the women's team elsewhere, lest any Hoyatalk readers miss out on what I'm sure will be a captivating back and forth about the entertainment value of televised women's athletics.

Can't this be moved to the "nobody really gives a crap board"? Do we have a Georgetown fan-card revoking system?

Yeah, some of us do watch the games (when they're on TV). Why? Because they're Georgetown, and because they're actually pretty damn good too. If we want to change the HoyaTalk board to discussions of men's basketball only, then that should be noted in the description, and women's basketball can take place on the Georgetown Sports board. But it's not. Until it does, I have no problem discussing women's basketball on HoyaTalk, and again, if you don't like it, don't post in it. BTW, this is a great problem to have.
