Williams-Fluornoy was not taking shots at Dolson, she was stating facts: the game plan was for Tia Magee to take Dolson off the dribble in the lane and she did repeatedly. Dolson was too slow to be able to react. Nothing unclassy about that - just facts that The God Gino basically acknowledged in his own postgame comments.
UConn did not take charge of the game until they took Dolson out and subbed a guard in for her. Again - simply facts.
On a semi-related subject, UConn abused 2-seed Duke in the regional final tonight.

Dan everything your saying is true it certainly was not Dolsens best game. Still the high road for Fluornoy is not to say they abused Dolsen, I mean you lost the game, maybe you can praise your players without taking shots at Dolsen even if it is fact. Additionally I dont know why some hoya players would join in on the dolsen bashing. Dolsen could have said something to the effect that the hoyas are a second rate team but she said nothing and would use it as motivation next year.
Duke really doesnt have the fire power to compete with uconn and honestly I dont think that they believe they could beat them. Hoyas believed they could win and you can see the difference in play. I really think the way ND is playing they have a very good shot at beating Uconn actually I think they will. This is not a vintage UCONN team I think getting to the Final foul is a good accomplishment. If they get by ND, facing Stanford/ Baylor will be even more daunting that ND.

Rich: "abusing" was my word, not that of the coach or players. Coach Williams-Fluornoy Post-Game QuotesI don't get what the problem with this is? Tia Magee averaged 8.2 PPG this year and she had 8 in the first half, all with Dolson guarding her. She was asked a question about Dixon replacing Dolson and she answered it honestly. Hoya Players Postgame Quotes...nothing there either... Rich, you gotta stop reading those UConn Cheerleader newsrags in Connecticut...

All im saying is that I was watching the Baylor game last night(I know I just hate this Gainer hombre and wanted him to lose) and Doris(annoying) Burke was saying that the hoya players were chirping knocking Dolsen. Burke stoped short of calling the criticism classless but rather said it was classy how Dolsen responded. Listen As braskyii is pointing out really who cares. Im just wonding if anyone up there heard any of this or if Burke is just fire lighting.
Honestly im not defending the team just sounded werid. JT3 would never knock any of the VCU kids nor would our boys either. The men are a class act on and off the court. I was just asking if this was a story in DC. As you know Im in agony here in CT. Couldnt be worse here!

Doris Burke is rapidly turning into a tool and her open rooting for UConn when she has broadcast their games in this tournament negates any possible validity her comments might have.

Couldnt be worse here! UConn is a remarkable force that almost doubled the score of their opponent in the Elite 8. Georgetown played the no respect card all during the tournament (much as the VCU men's team did). Digging in at UConn's mystique and not bowing down to them is crucial for the next time the Hoyas play them - it establishes doubt. Very early on in the Maryland game, it was clear that GU was getting nothing inside, and so they resorted to chucking it from the cheap seats, got hot, and destroyed Maryland. But even afterwards, when Maryland was guarding the three point line more aggressively, GU still didn't get anything. Against UConn, GU was so badly outsized they didn't contest the center jump. But they kept on scoring on the inside. If you're a women's basketball coach, for a team that has been an afterthought, for a sport whose Sweet 16 game didn't fill a 10,000-seat arena, you give good quotes and good analysis. And the fact that Georgetown held even on the inside demands some comment. And asking GU to be classy is difficult when you say "I know I just hate this Gainer hombre and wanted him to lose".

I have been on business travel for about a week, so I just wanted to congratulate the women for the great run and almost beating the #1 team. I followed the game off and on during my meetings coming back to my room several times during the game and most of the time the Hoyas were ahead. The last time, while disappointed, I was proud of what the women did.

This might just be out of my hatred for everything UCONN, but I really feel like the women are going down tonight. They are a very good team, have a great player and great coach but I think the run ends tonight. As we all know its hard ot beat a team 3 times in a row, ND should have beat them last time. Should be close but ND should pull it out!

Every single team I have cheered for this month/season has managed to lose, I was even able to jinx the Uconn women/Maya Moore's NCAA dominance. As of now I am cheering for the Uconn men to win tomorrow night. Do you hear that universe? I want UCONN to beat BUTLER. Good for the Big East and all.
Really a shame the Uconn women had to go down tonight though. Played pretty badly and didn't deserve it(although officiating was pretty suspect), but their players are "classy"(hate using that word) and respectable and are actually likable. They are also one of the few womens teams that play like guys, or at least some of the players do. When they are clicking its enjoyable to watch and good basketball. Really they are the polar opposites of the mens team. (but remember basketball Gods, because you love me so, I am cheering for Uconn tomorrow)

Well this outcome was not a surprise, I predicted it in my above post. As sleepy mentioned the officiating was aweful at times. The officials single handedly took Dolsen out of the game. Her 4th foul was a touch foul at best called 30 seconds after coming off the bench with 3 fouls. Anyways, ND plays well and gets a much deserved win. UCONN brings in the consensus number one high school womens player next year they will be fine.
