Um... wow. This happened? Monster win. This team is for real. Almost missed it in the Wash Post today - who dedicated an insulting 3 single column inches (same as they gave the Texas/Rice men's game) deep on page D9. Not surprising after they completely ignored the program during their local women's roundup. Anyone want to wager that they'll actually pull their head out of their *ss, recognize they have a remarkable local AND national story, and salvage some journalistic integrity by covering the program?

That is pretty bad. However, I think the Post has done a better-than-usual job this year in covering GU athletics. They wrote a few columns on the women's soccer team, and their coverage of the GU women's basketball team has been decent thus far. I don't know why they wouldn't cover this. My only guess is that there wasn't enough time (the Sunday edition prints early, I think) to get all of the details to devote a full column to it and maybe we will see a bigger write-up tomorrow. Then again, they could have just reprinted the AP story....

I get the feeling that Tarik is now on the "All Georgetown Sports" beat - he wrote the feature on the women's soccer team, for instance, and I feel like he's written others as well. Given that he traded the Caps beat for the Hoyas in order to spend more time with family, it may also be an issue of "how much can we assign to Tarik in a short period of time."

Let me ask a stupid question. I live in DC and would like to attend some women's games. Where is the schedule posted and is there a charge for admission at McDonough. Thanks in advance for the info.

Oh, and there are no stupid questions, only people who go to Syracuse.

If you re-enroll and get the men's student ticket package all the games are included! It'll only run you about 50K that way.

Tickets for UConn are $10. If you're serious about going to the UConn game (3PM after the men play Cuse), I highly recommend buying ahead of time on GUHoyas. There's only a $1 service charge for peace of mind. I bought ahead for Maryland and I'm glad I did (between the crowd and the traffic jam to get into the garage).

Thanks for the advice Dan. Easier to find a scalper or buy off a student.

Thanks for the advice Dan. Easier to find a scalper or buy off a student. We will truly have come a long way as a program when anyone is scalping tickets to our women's basketball games.

Do students actually have separate women's tickets or do they just get in with a go-card?

I think they get a ticket/ card that they show at every game to get in if they bought season tickets.

In a more serious vein, here's where you can find specific info: www.guhoyas.com/tickets/w-baskbl-tickets.htmlA quick call to the ticket office should accomplish either picking up some specific game tickets (e.g., UConn) or a $50 season ticket.

Is there a thread for GU Lady Hoyas recruiting? I know they are really good and have seen some games on TV (last year). I would like to follow there recruiting like I do with the men's team?
No, but feel free to start one in the recruiting forum.

we would've moved up if we hadn't lost to a unranked Missouri the night before. Seems pretty fair to balance them out since missouri is reportedly very bad. Thought we might move up slightly, but oh well.

Next home game is TOMORROW at 7PM in McD vs. Richmond. It's the last home game for a few weeks. After tomorrow the ladies hit the road for 4 straight. Hope to see some of you there!
