It's because he can't order a pizza without reading from a teleprompter. They must not have had pizza at the House Republican retreat, because I don't remember a teleprompter there.

He was excellent at saying, "Max Baucus, it's your turn," without a teleprompter. But if he wants to be overdependent on a teleprompter, that's fine.

Does anybody know who is out of a spot since Obama was accepted at Harvard? Was it Sarah Palin's spot? Any insights on how objectively dumb the House Republican Caucus must be to not have somebody who could have earned the highest ranking spot on the Harvard Law Review ahead of Obama?

Yes, because as any of us who have been through law school can tell you, the people at the very top of the class are the people we would unfailingly want in charge of the country and telling us how to live our lives. Why I am not surprised the Jersey/Ambassador/Faux Texan's idea of a great president is to pick from the top of the class at HLS.

Be sure to genuflect when you use the words "Harvard" and "Yale."
They are fine schools, no question, but they are perfectly capable of producing morons.
Just as schools of lesser reputation are perfectly capable of producing great minds.

I thought your musings about the teleprompter went to his intelligence (It's because he can't order a pizza without reading from a teleprompter.) rather than ability to lead. I am not sure which argument is worse but appreciate your clarification. I don't think Obama is a great President, so don't put words in my mouth, nor do I think his law school role adds any special qualification beyond disproof of the standard ridiculousness found on Drudge, FreeRepublic, and this board.

Law of averages can tell us something about Harvard and Yale, though, and it is a safe bet that he did not just happen upon probably the most prestigious spot for a student in the entire law school. Pat Robertson, for example, graduated from Harvard Law. While I disagree with him and believe him to be misguided, he ain't dumb.

Second Amendment Solutions: They ain't just for the Tea Party anymore! realclearpolitics.com/video/2010/11/08/liberal_columnist_urges_violence_and_revolution.htmlOn the previous topic, I do not believe Barack Obama is anything short of very intelligent. I won't characterize too much further, but he's not stupid. This "once in a generation intellect" thing that you hear from time to time from fawning columnists is complete hogwash IMO, but the fact that he relies on a teleprompter is not evidence of a lack of smarts. Then again, George W. Bush was not stupid either, but the fact that he went to Harvard AND Yale didn't seem to stop many of his detractors from trying to characterize him as barely literate.

Thank you Boz. He is obviously very smart (the con he ran on the country in 2008 is proof positive that he is). However, the idea of his transcendent brilliance is both overstated and undersupported.

If MSNBC had any scruples whatsoever, Ratigan would be the one being suspended and for more than two days.

2 pages for Elvado's cut and paste job from Free Republic? I expect more from you guys.
This issue really only boils down to one thing: conservatives hate reading. There, I said it.

I think it's "necktie" actually.
I could be wrong. I can't be expected to pronounce every little syllable.
