Actually, sophomore. He was in my class, and lived down the hall from me in New South freshman year. Artie was a good guy, but his problem was he had no interest at all in being a student, plain and simple. He was in one of my freshman classes, and I didn't know it until the day of the final. I remember walking up to him that day and saying, "you're in this class???" and he cracked up. That was pretty much Artie's MO. As for this White, we certainly can't be surprised. It was fun while it lasted. Hoyarooter! Thanks for that correction. And of course you are right because if he HAD been a freshman, he would not have been playing due to freshman ineligibility rules that were changed a few years later. So it was Artie's first year on the team, but not his first year at school. Same as Mike Laughna, if I recall correctly. Great team! But nearing the end of an era. Yep, same class, and of course you are right about freshman eligibility. I didn't know Mike, but the funny thing I recall about him is that I believe it was junior year, he announced that everyone had been mispronouncing his name - it's Laugh-NAY, not Laugh-NAH. The guy was a warrior.
