From Rivals: Brandon Bolden (2012, Team Florida)- A promising prospect, Bolden is the prototypical wiry, long, athletic four-man with a developing skill game. If he applies himself in the weight room and is serious about his skill development, he will have a successful career at Georgetown. I'm hoping that by the end of summer the writers are mentioning how Bolden is hitting the weights hard and is very serious about his skill development. All-out effort and hard work!

Thats something we havent thought about in considering Bolden not the best '12 recruit. Maybe he will be a defensive specialist for us? Needs to definitely hit the weight room. Bolden = Theo Ratliff. I'll take it.

Interesting that he got such a bump on both services when he had such an underwhelming year. I guess its good that there is some confirmation that the kid can play. Hopefully production matches potential once he gets here.

Espn also lists him at 6'8" when scout has him at 6'10". Maybe he is wearing those same shoes that hollis was haha
Anybody know if he is still growing?

Let's not take a dump all over our recruits before we see them on campus (Hopkins included). All you guys are going on is stats and while it is clear he is not a top 10 player in his class, there is something the coaches see & want. With bigs development taking a few years (not weeks), it makes sense to have one too many vs. one too few as we saw this past year.

Yeah, i trust that the staff recruited him for a reason; especially so early.

All you guys are going on is stats and while it is clear he is not a top 10 player in his class, there is something the coaches see & want. With bigs development taking a few years (not weeks), it makes sense to have one too many vs. one too few as we saw this past year. That's not true at all. Many are going off what they've seen and have been told by those who are at Nike EYBL events, or DeMatha games, or Miller School games (see earlier pages in thread). If different people are all seeing same thing, then it's an evaluation of a player. Would you rather put your head in sand and say "EVERY guy the Hoyas sign is great because he's not suited up yet......" or would you want an honest evaluation of the player/what Georgetown is bringing in? Hopkins--take a look at the evaluation provided and his weakness in the early pages of his thread. Look when that was stated. Now look what several others said when they watched him play his SR year as a Hoya signee. What changed? Nothing. We all hope it changes, but it's a lot easier to calm someone down then it is to rev them up and motivate them. Guys either bring it or they don't. What would you say has been a weakness of III as a coach? His teams need to be self-motivated because he hasn't shown the ability to have them ready to go and fired up to play. So bringing in low energy, lethargic, inconsistent, passive people isn't going to improve if you are relying on the staff to improve that. Maybe Tweet Trawick will energize them, because that kid has more fire in his gut (imo his biggest asset to program immediately is attitude/confidence) then we've seen from program in 3 years.

I am simply stating that most who watch these kids have no past in evaluating & projecting talent, yourself included. You are going to hit on some & miss on some, but the coaches must feel the potential is there. You aren't going to get all top notch kids so the ones you take a flier on have to have some element that makes them strong candidates.
I think you might be the most negative poster I have ever read on this board and it borders on hatred for the current staff. We get it, you don't like them, lets move on.

I feel compelled to defend RDF here. In my opinion, he is one of the fairest and most balanced posters on this board - and clearly one of the most knowledgeable when it comes to high school recruits. Since when does one have to be blindly supportive of a team, coach or program to be considered a loyal fan. Personally, I love JTIII and wouldn't trade him for any coach in the country. That being said, I agree with RDF that III is not a fire in the belly type of coach and often seems incapable of firing up a team during flat periods. Does that make me negative or a hater - I think not.
