Still, as above, the issue is so minor and private that I do not care all that much. No, but you'll make 243 posts in one thread about an issue you don't care about. [/quote] Good cherry-picking. I don't care about the religious practices of our presidents. I made that clear, and you misread and exaggerated it, but perhaps it was just confusion arising from dialing in from a Blackberry or iPhone.

Islamic Law and baptismal certificates aside, I'm basing my assessment of Obama's religious beliefs on the 20+ years (basically, his entire adult life) he spent worshiping in a Christian church. Based on the rules set forth by Republicans during the 2008 campaign, his membership in that Church defined who he is to his core.

Did he lead a Muslim congregation?

Uh, you failed to mention a certain Jeremiah Wright. Wow, great comeback. He was talking about Jeremiah Wright, Hometown Buffet. Wasn't this thread about approval ratings at some point rather than every weird urban legend or conspiracy meme, finger pointing, or even the brazen admission by one poster that they don't care about any sort of standards or honesty as long as their guy wins politically? I'm surprised no one has gone Bilderberg or black helicopters yet in this thread. I oppose Richard Gere owning gerbils.

Did you hear the rumor about Rob Schneider? Is he a secret Muslim or a secret Juggalo? It is so hard to keep up.

even the brazen admission by one poster that they don't care about any sort of standards or honesty as long as their guy wins politically? To quote Obama's god, I ask of ends only whether they are achievable and worth the cost; of means, only whether they will work.

Minority Leader McConnell takes Obama at his word about his religion - a fairly tepid statement. Despite the opportunity this morning, he did nothing to quell the nativism that seems to be spiraling in certain circles with respect to his birth and religion despite all of the available evidence to the contrary. abcnews.go.com/US/wirestory?id=11441102&page=1

Likewise, I take easyed at his word that he's a hard core Catholic. I take you at your word that you're a Edited. What more do you want?

It's a definite Frank Luntz way of continuing the Obama is a Muslim meme without having to say it.
I take Mitch McConnell at his word he's not a pedophile.

I'm sure there are lots of liberals here who hate Marc Thiessen the same as I hate, say, E.J. Dionne, but the opening to his column is instructive simply in pointing out that you can usually get 20% of Americans to believe almost anything: www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/08/23/AR2010082302480.html?hpid=opinionsbox1You can take or leave the rest of the column as you wish, but I do agree with his point that the whole brouhaha about the Pew Muslim poll results is probably much ado about very little if not nothing.

I have to doubt the results of the poll in the first paragraph. If it were true, wouldn't TheAmbassador be focused less on this thread and more on making signs that welcome the aliens and say we are ready for their wisdom?

Please, you know The Ambassador is confident in his ability to craft a 3,500 word message board post that would convince the aliens to turn around and go back to their home planet. In fact, the aliens would be asking The Ambassador to share his wisdom. * This post made in genuine awe of the awesomeness that is "The Ambassador."

Meh, even the first couple of paragraphs of that column are pretty stupid. For example he attacks Democrats for believing in the evil-eye when the evil-eye enjoys similar ideological support from liberals, conservative, and independents, and also attacks them for being in touch with the dead, which enjoys strong support from both moderates and liberals. And really, what's wrong with that anyway? The dead sometimes vote Democratic in Chicago. I think the better explanation is that people who are going to waste time with an automated poll are the sort of people who are so irrational and angry that they'll choose crazy answers even though they know they are not true. I mean why not? These things are anonymous and you get to make him look bad.

I like the social security one.

The Social Security one is good but unoriginal - there was a fairly well-publicized Tea Partier who made the exact same argument during a rally.
I revisited moronswithsigns.blogspot.com recently, and they continue to do a good job with identifying craziness.
