and hollis. Coach k recruited two of our players after they committed to us and they act like we're so unethical for doing the same thing. It would be interesting to know who called whom originally. I am guessing that Kirby was the guy on our side. Did he call Tyler after his commitment to Duke? Or, did Tyler call Kirby? I am just curious about that, not judging one way or the other.

It is an honor just to be able to discuss Duke recruiting.

It's kinda funny how Duke fans and Maryland fans think that their programs only offer scholarships to Mensa members and everyone who chooses not to go to their school doesn't have the grades.
I can't imagine how Sean Dockery got in to Duke - he must have written an amazing essay as part of his application.

Rest assured if Coach Hypocritzki loses this kid it will be blamed on Pete Gaudet...

I thought it was unethical when K came after Lubick and when he came after A. Rivers after the commitment to FL. I'm not entirely comfortable with us going after Adams.

What's Adams' game like? Is he a PF? C? What's his size? What else would it be good to know about him?

he would play the 5 here.
He's a big kid, very strong and plays physical. Around 6'9, 260lbs. He's turned it into good weight, kid is solid.
Ideal fit to put next to a Hopkins or Bolden.

Bubble - There are rumors floating right now in our favor but no confirmation as yet from a news source or Scout/Rivals authority.

Duke's Scout board seems resigned to Adams eventually being a Hoya. The moderator there is making it out like Coach K either ultimately didn't want him or he wouldn't be let into school...fairly cryptic in his remarks but essentially saying that Duke's fine with "losing" him.

How good is this kid? I don't really know anything about him because I feel like he's been underdiscussed on this board due to his verbal to Duke. If we get him, is he a guy who's going to be ready to play from day one? Does he fit with our offense? How would his commitment affect any other bigs we're recruiting, such as Ochefu?
That being said, I would like the idea of having Henry, Nate, Moses, Hopkins, and Adams on one team. That's a hell of a lot of size.

Seriously I would wait for Ochefu even though the team got burned the last couple of years waiting on players. Not only do I hate the idea of Gtown recruiting committed players, I also like Ochefu's upside more. With him, Lubick, Hopkins, Moses, Bolden and Jerrell that would be a nice collection of talent to play at the 4 and 5.

Adams is #69 in RSCI. Rivals is highest on him at #54, Scout's got him at #83.

are you comfortable with Henry, Nate, Moses, Jerrelle and Moses giving us 80 minutes next year? I'm not.
I take Adams in a second and worry about Ochefu later.

If he has de-committed from Duke it has more to do with them recruiting Marshall Plumlee over him in the same class than it does with anything GU did. Imo

I think you missed Mikael Hopkins on your list. Not sure adding Adams would make me feel a whole lot better in '11. In a few years the group including Hopkins could be amazing...but the success in 2011 will largely depend on if Henry progresses and on Lubick becoming an all conference type player. Moses will likely still be in the early stages of his development, Hopkins just a freshman, and Jerelle will likely be limited by his upside. Adams would just be another big/strong body....but would really be a year away from being a difference maker. Given we have a healthy number of bigs now, I think I might side with MCI and go with the selective approach.

As far as recruiting committed players, Duke has done it to us unsuccessfully (Lubick) and others successfully (Rivers), and we've had it done to us successfully by others (Riley)... so I think it's basically an "if you can't beat em join em" situation. Kirby bringing a little of that M$U shadiness and I dig it. Broadus did likewise and it landed us some great recruits. Some of our fans might not be able to look down their noses at other schools anymore, but the team will be better off.
I'd love Ochefu as well, but when you combine the "help us a year earlier" factor with the "bird in the hand" factor, I think you have to go Hopkins. Besides.... Ochefu looks at the guys he'd be in the frontcourt with: Lubick, Ayegba, Hopkins, Adams, Bolden. Which of those guys scares Daniel Ochefu? None of em are/were ranked higher. If he wants to come to Georgetown he should, and let other guys worry about the minutes breakdown.
Take Adams if he wants to come, and then go all out after Ochefu, Anderson and the best combo guard on the board. The rotation/minutes will sort themselves.
