No, it's inside the fence, stretching from the sideline the stands are on all the way to behind the goal. It's definitely a cool idea, but could use a bit of work. It would be nice if they would at least install some sort of temporary risers for the student section to stand on if they're going to do this. Just getting them a foot or two off the ground would be nice and would allow the section to be more consolidated. It looked like it was only 1 person deep in some places and the cheering was lackluster.

I definitely like the concept though.
I think what you're describing would be like a small-scale version of Maryland's student section ===> although I doubt we have the space or "infrastructure" to pull that off.
Speaking of Maryland...our Sunday opponent Michigan State beat the Terps 4-3 in OT tonight in a game that saw Maryland tie the game, take the lead, and MSU tie it back within 28 seconds in the 89th/90th minute. www.umterps.com/sports/m-soccer/recaps/090310aac.html
"they are calling him "beavis" vasquez on their board and have been Editeding and moaning about him all summer. it makes me chuckle. i told them a g-town education should require a more creative nickname than "beavis"." -TerpSportsReport.com Message Board

Other than a handfull of dangerous crosses that Michigan State failed to convert, Georgetown looked more like the #24 team. Referee clearly didn't have a problem with allowing somewhat rough play by both sides.
One really cool thing was the Hoya Blue folks selling Georgetown scarves outside the stadium. While browsing in the bookstore after the game, I was twice asked where I got my scarf.

Big time win. Let's hope the men keep it up through out the season. Really exciting game/atmosphere yesterday. Big wins help keep the crowd large and engaged.

Hmmm. We beat Northeastern only 2-1 in 2OT, then we beat MSU 4-0, who beat UMD 4,3, who beat Northeastern, 5-0. We should be able to beat Northeastern 10-0 now.
Beware the Lobos. They outplayed our UCSB team for most of the game and they are always tough at home, plus they have added a quality player from Notre Dame who will be eligible this weekend to play.

yeah if you follow the link above you can see that New Mexico and Denver both have some of the best players in their league. They've been in the top 25 the past couple years and were a top 5 team a couple years ago. This will be 2 real tough games out west. An interesting homecoming for coach wiese, Mark Wilbur, and Seth C'debaca.
