Probably didn't want to be 20 ft+ away from the basket.
Not that Villanova's really a better place to be for a center.

If Kyle Anderson goes to Nova I may have to toss my computer out the window. Don't worry he'll go to Duke or UNC instead. At which point we will all start convincing ourselves that whichever other random guys we land in 2012 are "good, solid foundation players" like we did with the last couple classes.

there are very few kids who are High Scool Centers who can make a living in the NBA without learning how to play both back to the basket and 15 feet out - and I assume Daniel dreams about playing in the NBA... At Nova he won't be asked to play 20 feet out but he also won't have anything run for him - put backs and garbage buckets off broken plays. If he can't see why he'd be better off at BigManU then I am probably happyer he didn't come...

when your last 3 ncaa tourney games consist of a blown 17 point 2nd half lead to Davidson, and blowout losses to Ohio and VCU....it ain't an easy sell.

first off, the kids skill set is a face up one, so 20 feet away actually plays better to it. Secondly, it's not like Nova has won ships the last three years or closed out this season on a high note either. Besides, I'm confident the kid didn't watch the losses in the tourney and decide based on that.

Assuming we really wanted them, losing the two big man targets of Christmas and Ochefu to Syracuse and Villanova speaks volumes as to where we are in recruiting. It's not like they went to UCLA and Texas.
As far as our signees and verbals go for 2011 and 2012, they chose us over offers from who exactly? A bunch of teams that are at the bottom of top leagues or in lesser leagues, correct?
I am not going to get worked up over a 2012 recruit since that is really far away with plenty of opportunities to secure a top-flight player from that year, but still.

I'm only surprised this wasn't a school on his list.
He's maintained staying as close to home a possible is important to him. But, he's clearly good enough to play at a BCS conference school and he should to help him get to the NBA.
Villanova sadly makes perfect sense. It is just strange that everyone was so sure it was Georgetown and Temple.
All of that said, this is horribly disappointing.

Hopkins: supposedly had offers from Kansas, Maryland, Miami, Texas, and WVU 2012 Bolden: Baylor, Georgia, Xavier, Vtech, and Virginia, supposedly. (in response to someone else) nova was on the list, fwiw.

Although we lost out we still got Bolden over Florida; Kansas and Ohio State also expressed interest. Win some, lose some. Hurts with the loss of Christmas too. Maybe Adams' committment to the Hoyas dissuaded him. We'll be alright.
