The setup for the regionals is different than last year, where there were four regionals. This year, only two, east and west, and they are calling them preliminary meets. What happens this year is that the top 48 marks in each event for the east and the top 48 marks for the west are invited to the meet. During the meet the qualifying rounds will pick the top 12 in each event for the east and the top 12 for the west. They will not score these meets or even declare anybody a winner. In that respect these regionals are just qualifying rounds for the championships.
The Hoyas have 11 men and 12 women qualified for this meet. The women additionally have two relay teams (4x100, 4x400) qualified. The men's 4x100 team just missed qualifying.
For the men: Kenny Mitchell is qualified in both the 100m and 200m with the 24th and 33rd best mark, respectively. Theon O'Connor (40) in the 800m, Alex Bean (16) in the 1500m, Dylan Sorensen (29) in the 3000m SC, Bumbi (5), Levi Miller (16), and A. Taye (42) in the 5000m, Mike Krisch (6) in the 10,000m, Levi (27) in the 10,000, Chris Kinney (9) in the 110H, Biyerem Okengwu (47) in the 110H, and Toby Ulm (5) in the 400mH. So, since the top 12 in each event move on, Bumbi, Mike Krisch, Chris Kinney, and Toby Ulm have the best chance to move on.
For the women: Amanda Kimbers (36) in the 100m, Abi Johnson (24) in the 400m, Deidra Sanders (48) in the 400m, Chris Whalen (6) in the 800m, Avril Ogrodnick (16), Rachel Schneider (21), and Lauren Borduin (36) in the 1500m, Kelsey Malmquist (30) and Lauren Gregory (45) in the 3000m SC, Emily Jones (30) in the 5000m, Natasha LaBeaud (4) in the 10000m, London Finley (22) in the 400mH. The 4x100 team is ranked 12th, while the 4x400 team is ranked 20th. So Chris Whalen and Natasha LaBeaud have the best chances of moving on.

A couple of comments on the qualifiers. I was surprised not to see Alex Mason in the steeplechase. I think he has the qualifying time, but I expect he might be injured. Abigail Johnson had to pull up in the 400m at the Big East meet. Good to see her back and qualified. Hope she is completely recovered. Also, Mike Krisch experienced problems in a recent race and had to drop out. I hope he is completely well too.

Good to see the Hoyas advancing.
London Finley had the 13th best time in the 400H, so she is going to be on the bubble for making the top 12.

Christine Whalen won her heat, so she looks good in moving on. Theon O'Connor ran 1:50.65, but did not move on, so it was a tough field.
Amanda Kimbers missed out by 0.001 s. Only a freshman she will be back.

Deidra Sanders had a great season, improved dramatically, and made it into today's quarter finals. However, the field was too strong for her today. Abigail Johnson was unable to complete her heat yesterday, as she was still suffering from the injury she developed at Big East.

Notice the #1 time. Johnny Dutch appears to becoming the next great American intermediate hurdler. It may take a sub-48 s 400H to win in Eugene.

London Finley competed well, but did not move on out of the quarters. She was quite a find in the 400H last year, but did not make much improvement this year (EDIT: actually ran her best time this year). Look for a big year next year for her.
