Talk to Bronxie about this Blake Nash fella. I am hearing it is between us and WVU. Any insight? Played HS ball in Arizona and then South Kent Prep in CT. Redshirted a year in JC to get his grades in order--so he's got 3 to play 3. Built like Tim Hardaway--stocky/strong but quick/good ball handler. Plays at Williston JC in North Dakota and leads team in scoring/assists/steals and is strong ball handler. Had a game he led team in rebounding with 17. He shoots it well and well from 3pt land too. Nash wants to play in Big East--that's his preference and WVU sent Erik Martin out to watch him last weekend as Mountaineers are turning up their interest. They need a PG this Spring and Hoyas have been looking/contact recently. Had offers from big time programs out of HS---but didn't qualify and has gotten a lot of interest of late--with UNC being latest to inquire about him but they are on a lot of guys for backup roles.

Would he potentially start over Starky Love next year?

Would he potentially start over Starky Love next year? Don't know. That would depend on how Starks improves in offseason and how quickly Nash could adjust to Georgetown-not just on court but also off. Semaj Christon sounds like a nice fit too--but he's likely to reclassify for academic reasons. He's a guy who grew from 6'0 to 6'3 this Summer and has had a monster year in Ohio.

rdf, I couldn't agree more with you re: Robinson. Although he is tough going to the hoop, he is slow, dribbles way too much, rarely looks inside (to the best front court in the DC area - a mortal sin), cant defend and cant shoot. Hoyas, please take a pass.
We'll see about Hopkins. Not saying that he is going to be a big contributor right away, but he defends the rim, both on the ball and weak side help, as well as anyone I've ever seen in hs. He also has the look of someone who may grow some more (and will certainly fill out).
His main question is his motor, but if he wants it and is willing to work, the sky is the limit.
On the other hand, I hope we are on Grant and Anya. Both of those kids are big time.

James is a good ball player, he'll have an opportunity to get back at us with his BE choices.

Actually is UVA, ND, and Pitt as his final 3 choices and there have been some rumors UVA might be leading (that was prior to Pitt enterting his list--Pitt replaced Georgetown) so we'll see about that?
Doesn't Zagoria have some naked frisbee or wind surfing to do prior to stalking Kyle Anderson and stealing info from other reporters and claiming it as his own?

Nowhere near the talent of Lavance Fields. I'm not at all bothered by him going to a BE rival. Best thing is now people on this board who for whatever reason liked James's game enough to want him on the Hilltop can stop wishing.

In style of play, I see Fields. Not a great shooter, but physical, tough, gets to the basket and wins games. Fields was all these things for Pitt. Lavance was good at Pitt, but he wasn't super talented. He knew how to play. So does Robinson.

I think Pitt has a strong enough recruiting record that it makes me wonder whether we missed the boat on James Robinson. Time will tell.

Not super excited about him going to pitt. Like ranch said they have a good track record. Not excited that he'll have a chance to try and prove his the tem he wanted to play for wrong every yer.

So what's the consensus around here? Did Georgetown stop recruiting Robinson or did Robinson cool on the Hoyas?
I think it's the Hoyas cooling on him but I have nothing to back it up. Anybody with some insight or just more guessing?
From what I saw at Peach Jam, I think that Robinson can be a good player on a good team. You wouldn't want him to be your best guard though. He's not the best shooter but neither was Jessie Sapp when he got to Georgetown, so that can obviously be fixed.
I'm not nearly as down on him as my boy RDF, but I can see why he doesn't like his game for the Hoyas.
