In Scout article, listed Hoyas along with Maryland and Notre Dame over the weekend. 6'3", 200-lb guard from DeMatha that plays AAU ball for Team Takeover. Says he's interested in schools with strong academics and a good coaching staff.

From Evan Daniels: "Going up against a pair of the top 2012 lead guards – L.J. Rose and Jymchal Reese – Robinson put together a solid effort. The first thing we noticed about his game was his ability to dish out the rock. He’s got great vision and nice touch on his passes. A 6-foot-2, 190-pounder, Robinson is a bit in between positions but he makes good decisions with the basketball and is a leader."

Solid player won't see his true game until Quinn leaves. Definately a major prospect.

With Jerian Grant, Victor Oladipo and to a lesser extent Justin Black all moving on, he'll be looked upon to pick up a significant amount of the scoring load next season instead of being the fifth option.
He's a smart player and a very good shooter, but not quite sure what else he would bring to the table at the high-major level simply because he hasn't really had to do much but find open spots on the floor and hit open jumper after open jumper.
Right now, he'd be an excellent sixth man, but he's got two more years to hone his game.
I do like Robinson, but I'd actually rather see the staff go after Patrick Holloway out at Paul VI. Kid is a good shooter, adept driving to the basket with both hands, can handle it, good basketball IQ and has a good mid-range game.
Game reminds me a lot of Stephen Curry's. Not really a point, and at his size - I'd say around 6'0", 150 right now - it would be tough to see him get to 6'4", 190" by the time he graduates in 2012, but regardless, he's a player and right now, I'd take him over Robinson.

King James Classic:
"It wasn't just a one man show for Takeover. Sophomore James Robinson, Julian DeBose, and A.J. English all did some god things in the victory.
Robinson especially stood out with his slick passing and ability to get into the lane. As a kid who is a big time playmaker, Robinson still needs to learn how to make the easy play and not always go for the spectacular one, but still the tools are there. The 2012 combo guard can really pass, has a great feel for the game, and also proved to be a capable scorer in the process."
. . .
"James Robinson has an offer from Notre Dame to go with interest from Maryland and Georgetown. He did note that it is still extremely early in the process for him."

Robinson was huge in Team Takeover's 17-U championship at Peach Jam...from Scout's Evan Daniels recap of the semifinals/finals:
"Last year Team Takeover was bounced early from the Peach Jam, this time around Keith Stevens group was the last team standing. On Thursday up against Brad Beal and the St. Louis Eagles, Team Takeover did what it has done all throughout the EYBL League. They relied on 2012 prospect James Robinson and Duke commit Michael Gbinije.
Robinson was 7-for-12 from the field and buried 10 free throws on his way to a team high 24 points. He also snagged eight boards. Gbinije was 7-for-15 scoring 19 points and grabbing five boards.
Although they fell, the Eagles received a solid effort from Beal, who was 11-for-25 from the field and scored a game high 26 points. Butler commit Roosevelt Jones added 13 points and eight boards for the Eagles.
To get to the championship, Takeover knocked off Spiece by 15 points. The D.C. group had a balanced scoring attack, as Robinson tossed in 14, Julian DeBose had 18 and A.J. English scored 12."

From Zags blog on Robinson:
"Stevens said Notre Dame, Georgetown, Oklahoma, Virginia and Maryland are involved with the 6-3 Robinson out of DeMatha High. 'This kid has a chance to be special,' Stevens said. 'This is his first year ever playing the point guard spot. He has to keep getting better and if he keeps works working hard he can be special.'”

Just saw the Peach Jam final and Robinson looked very composed in scoring a lot of points...

James will be a very good college player. You DO NOT play at DeMatha as a freshman unless you are a high D-1 guy. It just does not happen. Been to a couple games to see him play, he is good. His Mom is crazy loud in the stands. She could fit right in at the Phone Booth.
I think he will be playing the point next season as Cook is gone. I think he needs to play the PG position if he wants to be successful at the next levels. He is stocky, compact, and strong. Definitely a Chris Wright body type.

What is the matter with you, man? More than 400 posts and still thinking positive? Have not the negativists beaten you into submission yet? Keep up the good thoughts, they will help us build our dynasty.
