I think the best we can hope for from this list is one of Hood/Thompson, one of Hopkins/Chol, Daniels, and a big.

B. Daniels doesn't list us among his favorites.

My guess is our class will be Thompson, Hopkins, and either Trawick or Phil Hawkins. We'll hold a schollie for 2012.

I agree. I am hopeful that it will be Hopkins, Hood/Thompson, and an athletic big like Robertson. I highly doubt both would come, but Hood and Thompson would be great. Not what we were hoping for a few months ago, but still not bad at all, in spite of all the doom and gloom around here.

Come on, that would be a great class to add to what's here.

Instead of a Thompson/Hood combo, I'd take one of them and then both Hopkins AND Chol. A man can dream, can't he??
PG- Starks/Sanford/Clark SG- Clark/Bowen/Hollis SF- Hollis/Thompson or Hood/Benimon PF- Lubick/Chol/Hopkins/Sims C- Abraham/Chol/Hopkins/Sims
Think of the length we'd have on the floor with Clark at the point, Hollis at the 2, Sam Thompson at the 3 and any 2 of Lubick/Abraham/Chol/Hopkins at the 4/5.
OK, sorry.....my dream is over. Back to reality and we'll see what REALLY happens!

Who is Phil Hawkins? I don't recall seeing anything on him on the board.

Phil Hawkins played at Eastern, but I've never saw him linked to the Hoyas.
Talented player though.

Give me a big, again. I'll trust the staff on players, but we can't afford a class with bigs.

Robertson, Hopkins, Thompson or Hood (would be thrilled to get both but would be surprised if we could pull both!)
would be an EXTREMELY solid class

I think we need to approach this expecting a class of Jordan O., Katenda and Trawick and hope for even ONE of Hopkins, Hood or Thompson.
You people are like kicked dogs...you keep coming back for more. Yes, maybe we will be able to get Quincy Miller too. that would be an OK class.

Hawkins is going to QEA, where Bowen came from, Prep school. How about Hopkins, Hood/Thompson, Robertson and Hawkins?
Use all four. Still have ships for '12 to get Ochefu, Robinson, Cali kid, etc.

If we dont get players of Big East caliber we will be in trouble. St Johns and Rutgers will get better. Add that to the regulars; Syracuse, Pitt etc we could turn into Providence in a hurry. Call it overreacting I call it a possibilty.

relax, dude. Rutgers signed an unranked project SF + had 7 (7!!!) open scholarships. Not a reason to freak out. Lavin's been a great recruiter for a while, but his UCLA teams weren't dominant. It's overreacting.
Georgetown's got to get some recruiting success soon, but a bird in the hand isn't exactly worth 2 in the bush. I'd rather have a chance at some of the guys Georgetown is close to signing (possibly) than a couple borderline players.

You say this as guys from our 2011 list continue to drop us and/or commit to other programs... Hardwood, very justified in your reaction. Im going to wait to see what we make of this recruiting debacle. maybe we can salvage it with some serviceable guys, I sure hope so. otherwise, we gonna need Nate, Markel, Aaron to see significant tick this year just so they can be ready to step up HUGE 2011-12. Actually, we are going to need that anyway because most of all the IMPACT guys from 2011 are either off the board or are not considering us. This could still turn out to be a respectable class, but some people need to get a grasp on reality. We need to throw some offers out! And when a guy lists us among 7 other schools (top flight programs), that is not a reason to be super optimistic. I would like more interest shown in B. Daniels. No sense in putting effort in on Chol, he aint coming. We really need two serviceable bigs from this class and 2 wings.
