Reminds me of Othella with the MS connection and numbers. Much better athlete than O though. I like that he's a good student; don't like that LSU is involved. We'll see I guess. III going stealth on this one. Nice I agree the high interest in LSU is problematic since they have deep roots in this area. I would not rule out a late charge by Miss. State either. I'd be more worried about Kentucky.

Johnny O'Bryant visits Georgetown next weekend unofficially--and wanted to bump this so we can all focus on what's important--'11 season--be it the returning team or the recruits who Georgetown needs to bring in a big haul--like top 5-10 class imo.
Besides--something needed to bump that thread about the kid who can't understand that a comment about "looking like a Hoya" meant he did as a PLAYER--so he can go to Uconn and he'll fit in well academically. ;D

I never watched him play, but this guy sounds like he could be what older hoyas' fans all wished michael graham would be.
He would ease the GM to the draft pain real quick.

O'Bryant is a great student--which is attractive but he's an ALL OUT EFFORT guy and I'm tired of the "will they/won't they" recruits. This program needs to get ALPHA MALES in the mix and the type who don't wait for things to happen-they make them happen and O'Bryant is that.
Give me the guy who will bring intensity/urgency to every game because that feeds to rest of team. PE JR had it--and it carried to rest of team-it's been lacking in program past 2 years as everyone wants to "fit in" and I'm tired of that attitude. Get people who are not worried about fitting in because they are too busy trying to win and doing what it takes to win. O'Bryant is that way.

Including your points about Pat Jr. Team needs some hard-nosed kids who will get after it from the minute they wake up in the AM until they go to bed at night. All day. Every day. I don't want to see our team come out unprepared to play anymore. I don't care if they are playing St. Leo's. Come out ready to kill them and play that way for 40 minutes. I'd rather see our guys be like Charles Barkley on the Dream Team then to Edited away so many games they easily should have won.

I agree, as JT3 has experienced in his brief tenure at GU with finessse arhletes, changes of tempo, etc..., it's time to see how successful talented, high-intesity players playing together under JT3 can be for GU.

Scout article from Georgia Tech site said O'Bryant is wide open and he's likely to wait until the spring of his senior year to decide on what school to attend.
Based on the article, my guess is that if JT III can't get him to commit on his visit this week, there's a very low probability that O'Bryant will ultimately be a Hoya.

Does that mean that we are soon going to start hearing my favorite nonsensical argument - that if he really wanted to be a Hoya, he would have committed by now?
