Would this be the first time since Villanova that Georgetown has defeated the eventual champ in the regular season? (I checked and GU lost twice to 2003 Syracuse)

And if (heaven forbid) Syracuse won, we would have beaten them also, obviously in the post-season.
Fun fact, we beat 1989 National Finalist Seton Hall in the regular season. Same goes for 1996 National Finalist Syracuse.

Don't forget Butler and Washington.
(Ok, I know they don't really have a shot and we're talking about contenders here.)
GU went 4-4 against the Sweet Sixteen, with all four of those losses coming against Syracuse and West Virginia.

The number of sweet sixteen teams that we've beaten just depresses me even more on how we went out.
On the message topic, if Duke wins K should be lauded for his coaching this year because Duke has no business beating any of the teams they'd likely face in the final four or championship. Luckily for them they'll be pretty well rested after the joke of the bracket they had leading up to that final four.

There is a good chance that this will the second year in a row we would have beaten 2 of the 4 Final Four teams. Last year was UCONN and Nova; this year Duke, Cuse, Butler, Washington are in the running. I don't know whether to be happy or sad. Probably both.

We won't look up at the rafters and see a "beat good teams" banner and remember our non-run fondly. We will still have lost to Ohio.

If we did have such a banner, at least we could rest assured that it wouldn't be the lamest sports banner ever. But it would be damn close.

if duke wins this without having to face any of the top 3 teams in the country (kansas, syracuse, kentucky) I will flip out.

Duke won a total of one game against a top-25 RPI team during the regular season: #24 Maryland, who also beat them 2 weeks ago. Pathetic.
