Living down here in southeastern North Carolina, I can only say AMEN to "ABD." Tarheel fans are almost as bad, but they got their's this season. If Duke does win though, you can't blame the team or players. They are just playing the hand that was dealt. It does seem kind of ironic to hear Jay Bilas talk about how their defense is winning games for them. No matter how disappointing our end of season was, that Duke win sure was fun.

I don't think Duke matches up well with Baylor or WVU. Here's to a Baylor-Butler national championship game.

Ambassador-Bet you thought the Baylor matchup would include all eight of their first line players. But you got DOOKED.

It's about time somebody acknowledged the virtue of giving your coach a tongue bath.

In evaluating any NCAA match-up with Duke, you have to take into account the 8 to 5 factor, which means that you need to subtract at least one first line player from the Duke opponent. I don't see a Mizzoula or Ebanks less WVU beating Duke. This is what truth, Justice and the NCAA way is.
Also, its real easy to be a tough and gritty team when you know the rule makers are on your side. Zoubek knew yesterday that he was golden with his four fouls until Duke got 2 possessions ahead. Then like magic, when they knew it wouldn't hurt Duke, he fouls out. To use an analogy, Al Capone's thugs ruled Chicago with brutality because they knew the cops were in their pocket. Coach K grew up in Chicago and knows the "Chicago "or should we say NCAA way.

While I totally agree that Duke gets the benefit of the refs way too often, I do think it comes from the fact that it has sort of come to be expected, not from some mass conspiracy theory. That being said, I still hate Dook.

I guess this was a good question to ask. Too bad nobody ever answered it...

Go Butler!

If duke wins, ESPN will change its name to "The Duke Network"
If Butler wins, every headline of every website and newspaper will read "The Butler Did It"
I would rather take the latter, but not really

As far as Duke teams go, this one seems so harmless although I feel the same vehemency everyone else does. They aren't unlikable, but they aren't particularly likeable either - none of their players are exciting either way (which is disappointing in its own right) It is like a team of a bunch of Zoubeks - straight-laced kids who managed to nicely put it all together the last part of their seasons, but I will prob forget about in about six months.

Well, there it is. The NCAA got the champ it wanted, and Duke got a championship on a silver platter.

Look, you can't discredit a national championship. It was a down year. Duke got a favorable draw. But they won it. That's more than you can say for the other top teams this season. Trying to diminish the accomplishment is silly and petty.
