Just back from the game and dinner out with family.
Speaking of family, we are all reportedly Hoya fans here.
Act like it or your posts will be deleted. Future posts in this thread that call other posters names, are made simply to troll or inflame, and do not discuss the basketball game will be deleted in their entirety. Period. I've got a 10 year old who can act more like an adult than some of you people.
Frustrating game. While I admire Austin's effort, after his first try he should never have been sent out there. This was a day for the team to sink or swim with Hollis and Vee dividing his minutes.
ND hustled quite a bit, but the Hoyas over-hedged, did not box out except for one 5 minute stretch in the second half, and did not close out on the ND 3-point shooters. Monroe seemed to let himself get overly frustrated by the hack-a-thon being perpetrated on him inside. The only way to solve that is to go up strong and draw the fouls that are there.
I was very disappointed that the classless Hansbrough did not have a forearm or two delivered to his chest late in the second half when he was taunting the students and chest bumping everything in sight.

We're all on the same side in theory, Dan.
In reality, Bronx Hoya is nowhere near on our side. Criticizing constructively is one thing. This dude just needlessly trashes the program and everyone associated with it, including many on this board. I know I and many posters on this board wishes that he were banned. The board would be a much happier place without him.

Daytona why do you want BX banned? I have a different opinion than you. Why are you right and me wrong when the results say differently?
Instead of calling for BX's head debate me in a civil manner. What did I say that was wrong?

"Obviously we weren't good offensively today by any means. We couldn't make a basket when they got their lead," coach Bill Self said. "So in those times, that's when you've got to guard. And obviously our toughness level defensively today was very, very poor and that can happen in the tournament in a one-and-done deal again." Kansas and Kentucky lose. Was a weird day.

So frustrating. I too left early - and i never do that either.
Little hansborough chest bumping; #34 dunking, no rebounding, effort in spurts - just depressing and frustrating all around. I know everyone's comments stem from this depression and frustration. However, the personnal attacks on this board are ridiculous. Let's not forget that the coaches and players care about the same thing we care about (winning). We can question tacktics and even effort - but come on with everything else. JT III should be fired?!?!
ridiculous - that said - if you can't vent on a message board where can you vent.
the other beef i had after this game were some of the fans in my section. why do people yell insults at our players and coaches? I'm not even talking about the end of the game after we lost. During the game; ESSPECIALLY before the outcome has been decided we should be encouraging our team. People on this board love to b*tch and moan about reselling of tickets and other fan's sitting in our sections or anywhere in our arena. We talk about wanting a "home court" advantage. Yet - when the team wasn't bringing energy - we could have helped.
more than anything else about today - that infuriated me. The team isn't perfect (no one is) they are 19 - 21 year olds. As fans we need to back up our b*tching.

Why is Yarou playing for Nova and not us? Damn poor recruiting is why!

So Bronx, my question for you is this; given that our recruiting has not been world class the last couple of years, other than Greg of course - what do you expect to accomplish by posting the same thing over, and over, and over, and over again? We have heard the same point probably 20 times from you in different threads over the last 2 or 3 weeks. Is there something else you have to say? We get it - we need to hear another thought.

JTIII lack of getting his players to play hard....and not playing to our strengths. Those are other major problems.

Why is Yarou playing for Nova and not us? Damn poor recruiting is why! Are you watching a different game than I am? Yarou is being completely abused on the offensive boards and Villanova is getting its ass kicked. Georgetown lost 73-56 at Syracuse. Right now, it's Syracuse over Villanova 75-58 and Syracuse is picking up steam and Villanova looks like absolute crap. So, if we're saying "why can't we recruit like Villanova", I think the response might be that we recruit better than them.

The worst loss this year because of the crappy effort. I am done with Henry Sims, I wish him the best in whatever career he chooses when he graduates but he is no better than Dougherty and Stepka. Henry is a practice player. I hope he stays 4 years for depth purposes but, would not be heartbroken if he transferred. Rather have Vernon back personally. At least he rebounded.
I love my Hoyas but was dissapointed by the effort. How do you beat Duke, Villanova, UConn, Washington and lose to S. Fla, ND, Marquette, and ODU.
The girls payed better against Conneticuit today then the men against ND

Yarou has ability. He is a Frosh. Do you not see his ability?

I can't see how recruiting had any part of this loss. We had a better player than Notre Dame at every position. We may need another good big man to match up with Syracuse, but Notre Dame did not have a player who would start at Georgetown.

Yarou has ability. He is a Frosh. Do you not see his ability? Translation : I don't see any of his negatives because he doesn't play for the Hoyas. If he did, bronxhoya would be ripping him for getting destroyed on the boards. Syracuse is the clear alpha-dog of the Big East (I think they're the best in the nation). After that there are a bunch of teams who can claim to be #2 - and Georgetown is one of them.

As much as it pains me to say this, yes, Syracuse is the best team in the country right now

Like the rest of us he's not perfect, but anyone who has a serious problem with JTIII should be tied to a chair and forced to watch Esh's last game against St. Johns -- for three days.
The only thing that really troubles me is the sense that they haven't gotten that much better as the season progresses.

A couple of posters think that the team is wearing down a little. I personally never want to see anyone make excuses, but there may be something to that. 85 percent of the scoring is done by three guys, who are playing all the minutes in a brutal league and we have the top strength of schedule in the country. Maybe the grind is getting to the guys, who know going into each and every game that there's no margin for error. Maybe that's why we haven't seen a natural progression.

The season seems a little too long for us and several other teams this year. We appear to have peaked in late January.
Lic's admonition about February was ignored.
March anyone? or do we just pack it in?
There are legitimate questions about character, depth, maturity, talent and coaching. We are not alone with these dog days, but it is hard to forecast a second wind.
I sort of knew it was kool-aide when I drank it in January, but the after taste is a little bitter right now.

jtiii is not getting it done Bronx, its sad that we have to keep losing like this for some to see and understand that. Like I said before, its clear that Vee Sanford is our best on ball defender... He put him in the game with 4 mins left. What a joke. I used to have faith in JTIII.
