Wow Dan. You're on the ball in a huge way. No time to even enjoy the win a bit. Bring it on Nova! I'll continue to take CW over Scottie every day of the week and twice on Sunday regardless of how well Scottie has been playing. I'm looking forward to Chris eating his lunch for him.

Let's keep the streak going. Especially since SO many Hoyas are going to be in attendance on Sunday.

Its going to be a backcourt battle and our chance to prove that Wright, Clark and Freeman are every bit as good as their 3 guard line up.
Monroe needs to play big in this one....4 shot attempts won't do it against Nova.

I was at the WC in '07 when the Hoyas scored the last nine points of the game to win by 3. One of my favorite memories of seeming them in Philly and deservedly a Game of the Decade. Looking forward to another victory cheesesteak at Tony Luke's

I will be in attendance along with 8 or so Hoyas.
I want to see Chris, Jason et al. rise to the challenge defensively on Sunday like they did tonight. You could tell that the guys tonight WANTED to shut down Hazell and wouldn't stop pestering him until the game was done. I want the same on Sunday with Nova's perimeter guys. Let's make a statement Sunday fellas.

We've been spoiled with 5 straight wins over the Wildcats but I really think we can make it six.
They'll be a minimum of 160 students in the building for this potentially great matchup

We gotta do one thing...get the ball INSIDE. In my opinion, our guards are a wash with theirs. Where we have the decisive advantage is down low. It is kinda like the UW game when we abused them inside, except their post players are more aggressive, but still not as big or skilled as ours. We need to exploit this advantage and let their guards jack up CONTESTED jumpers and drives. We win this game and it will be so crucial for this team and their confidence riding into a very challenging 5 game stretch!

Am I crazy in thinking that we're better than Nova? Though, I admit, I don't think Nova is remotely a top 4 team. At the very least, I like how we match up against them.

IMHO, here are two goals for the first five minutes of each half: no turnovers and Greg gets 10 touches. Nova is going to try to press us out of the building. We have to be prepared for that and not turn it over. If we can get it inside to Greg, that is where the 'Cats are vulnerable. If they then double him, he can pass to on of the other guys.

our breaking the press is MUCH better this year much... soooo only problem austin is a little hesitant and usually two or three times a game he either gets a five second call and BY THE WAY THAT REF CALLED A FIVE SECOND CALL LAST NITE IN LIKE 2.5 SECONDS.. or a wild throwaway but overall we go to the ball pass not dribble and look for each other down the court and punish them if they press the hall had been a good pressing team and we MADE THEM PAY make NOVA PAY go hoyas guys make the BAD SCOTTIE COME OUT TO PLAY

Anyone else starting to feel better against the press? I think we've still got some kinks to work out, but in the last few games, I'm starting to feel (for maybe the first time in the JTIII era) that we have not only enough ballhandlers to effectively break 2-on-1 full court pressing, but also that we're starting to have some simple counters for the press.
Last night in particular, there were a number of times that Austin, Chris or Jason would make a quick move in the backcourt to draw a doubleteam, but then make the good pass before the double-team could arrive. And I'm feeling really comfortable at this point with either of those three taking it up against aggressive man-to-man press.
Nova will be the next (big) test in seeing if this theory bears out.

I feel better about the press once we get it in. The act of Austin Freeman getting the ball inbounds however, is always extremely troublesome.

Just win, baby.
