And finally the shots stop falling entirely... ugh.

Ugh. Villanova is really really good.

They need to slow down on offense and stop rushing shots - they're letting Villanova dictate their offense.

Did we prep for this opponent at all?

I'd argue this half is worse than the first half vs. UConn. We've been totally incapable of getting points (even at the line) since Wright picked up his second foul, and Nova's getting an open look on every trip (often a layup).

It looks like Nova's defense is pushing us into places on the court where we don't want to be and making it difficult to run our stuff.
They play with such intensity and with all these players. Tough team to get down big against.

Really an inspired Nova defensive effort as well. We can't get a layup or dunk down--they're either putting as at the line or swatting it away.

Don't really have a choice but to let Wright and Vaughn play with 3 the entire second half.

Apparently you can touch the rim as the ball is on it now.

Refs completely missed the basket interference on the over-the-back by King. Not that it wasn't obvious.

Bottom line is that the Hoyas are letting Villanova's defense dictate their offense. Need to adjust at half.

They are making their layups and free throws and we aren't. We wouldn't be leading, but how many easy shots have we missed? Good defense and good offense by Nova.
Let's close as much as we can for half and then try to make a run.

I'm not sure why we're not switching on almost everything when we're going 4 small. Also, I'd like to see Sims a bit--bad matchup or no.

Might have been a foul on Monroe up top, but I didn't see any contact after that on Villanova's last possession of the half.

To back it up, we shot 4-16 from 2. Nova shot 12-22.

Uh Villanova is not very good. We are playing like trash. Still don't understand why we bring the ball to the sideline on the press

Bottom line is that the Hoyas are letting Villanova's defense dictate their offense. Need to adjust at half. Easily predictable that 'Nova would play this way. Needed to adjust IN PRACTICE.

It's one of the things I've seen missing from this team that the very best Georgetown teams had -- an ability to make inside shots. The later Green-Hibbert-Wallace teams were really good at not only making their low post shots but also making contested shots on drives -- even Wallace. We simply don't make those.

We completely let Nova move us on offense. That stretch from 12 minutes to about 6 was just them moving our half-court offense into the spots they wanted, which is pretty unacceptable. Missed shots I can always deal with, although they do rankle me. Completely allowing a team to dictate both ends of the floor I cannot abide.
