Inability to shut down the three is puzzling to me.

THere you have it.
All those turnovers.
Greg doing a lot of reaching on the perimeter not getting the steals and that last one when were down 2 and they got the putback killed us.
Missed free throws. THe numbers dont even begin to tell the story because they dont account for the second half of the 1/1 we dont get. We gotta shoot better from the stripe. It does us no good to get into the penalty early if we dont knock down the freebies.
Was impressed by how the team fought back. Last year we hold our heads down and dont even get back into that game. Guys just waited too long to turn it up. On a/n note, do we not have a basic press? IT will be hard to play from behind with our offense, especially if we cannot get turnovers or force quick shots!

Give em some credit, DFW. It was 18 TOs.
Greg really needs to continue to work on his defensive positioning. Out of place a little too often, especially on the last putback.
I also think some of the open 3s were a result of a decision to collapse on Lee. But not all.

I do not want to hear ANY post-game quotes about snow, about exams, none of it. 16 turnovers and 1-8 from the free throw line in the final minutes is a lack of focus, plain and simple, and someone needs to take responsibility for it. Umm, wouldn't those factors (the snow, final exams, traveling all over the country) affect focus?

You have 288 posts, 273 in this thread, and 272 criticizing Wright. Edited you. KC-maybe with an objective eye, you would see what I see. Not a PG, not a SG. Where does it all fit in. He was open all day for three, yet no one trusted him with the ball. How many assists? Same ol, Same ol.

DFW... if you don't want to hear it, don't read the posts. It was a bad game. That's all. They were flat until halfway through the second half and careless with the ball. And they did, in fact, have a lot going on this week and had maybe one full team practice. ODU is decent. They shouldn't beat Georgetown on any week (even finals week). But they did. Just a bad game. Nothing more.

Looks like we learned we can't sleepwalk through games against solid opponents. Looks like we learned that if we turn the ball over 19 times or whatever, we're going to lose our fair share of games. Looks like we learned we can't turn it on with 7 minutes to go and expect to overcome 33 minutes of garbage.
Yeah we lost. It happens. The question is, how do we move on from here. Is it merely coincidence that the guys come out extra sloppy the week after we start getting some national pub? Or does it have more to do with the week off and finals and the fact that sometimes you lay an egg. We won't know the answers to those questions for a while. But I'll be very surprised if there isn't at least 1 thread on this board drawing a million conclusions from tonight.

Exams as an excuse always makes me laugh...yeah "we are georgetown", but I was there for academics and rarely opened the books. Lets not act like these guys were burning the midnight oil at the library.
We just came out and thought we would dominate. We were wrong. Hopefully its a lesson for the boys (like they need any more lessons after last year), and at least the final score is not an complete embarassment.

This was a "good" loss. Did lots of bad things, but they're correctable. Gives the team a wakeup call heading into BE play. Saw some heart with the comeback at the end.
I have no problem with how this game played out.

Who is our point guard anyway? It sure as hell wasn't Wright.
Nobody seems to understand the P offense...but III just can't read the writing on the hardwood.

IT will be hard to play from behind with our offense, especially if we cannot get turnovers or force quick shots! Yep not being able to play from behind has been a problem for a long time. It's not that our offense is the wrong offense, it's that it only seems to run at one pace--not a quick one. We need more quick-hitter plays like every team has for tight moments. And how can we call ourselves Georgetown and not have a nasty press? There was plenty of time to win that game if we had amped up the pressure.

If this team clearly didn't care about tonight's game, why should any of us? Asinine. Please find another team to be a "fan" of. And the person that mentioned the "wiping out" of last week, go take your Midol or Lithium or whatever. It was an atypical bad performance. I will say that this team looks very different when Jason isn't scoring.

Come back when you have a new thought. Our offense doesn't work. Our recruiting doesn't work. Period. What a bevy of comments...and the season has just started!! the Hoya tradition is being killed inexorably by a slavish adherence to yesterday's basketball theory. This will not end well. The recruits are smelling something rotten in Denmark. They are saying "the hell with backdoor cuts!). We look turgid, lost, leaderless. We are a joke...the Mc D AAs are suddenly nowhere to be seen. And worst, the buzz around Alums is getting downright scary. One more season of excuses, one more season of 40+ point games, one more season of kids (and coaches) leaving the program, one more season of seeing how outdated we are....and then we can get religion, make choices, and start the long climb back to reality. We're Ivy League basketball...the big boys are and will continue to eat our lunch. (Eureka: they actually have a low post presense!!! See Pitino. See Kansas. See the rest of the big boy world) Where are you Sleepy Floyed, where are you...?? Is it really darkest before the Dawn?

Yeah... you were there for academics and didn't have to put in all of the time in the gym. Have a little respect for how hard these guys have to work to do both.

Everyone on the team should be cut from the team. Snow-pocalypse will kill us all. McDonough is cursed. JTIII secretly knew we would lose this game again but allowed it to happen because it would be the "turning point" that it was in '06–'07. Jack the Bulldog should be put down. Christmas is ruined. In fact, Christmas is canceled. Henry Sims' "permanent condition" has spread. It would be the death of us all, except Snow-pocalypse will do us in long before the Sims condition reaches epidemic proportions. McDonough should be condemned and destroyed. Fire JTIII. Execute JTIII. The lack of facilities are to blame. No big time recruit will ever come to Georgetown again. They will never even look at Georgetown again. Georgetown's Catholic and Jesuit tradition calls us to turn the ball over less. The whole team and all of its fans are going to Hell. The whole program is going to Hell. The end of days is upon us.
Alright, now that that's taken care of, Harvard on Wednesday?

I am now officially worried about Harvard and Jeremy Lin if we come out like we did in this one. I can't imagine there will be much of a crowd at Verizon Center. I will be there. Who else?
