Our guys just need to keep winning. Nothing else matters. That's 4 in a row over UCONN by the way.

Oh, and Jimmy said it was the most disappointing loss of the seasons for his Huskies....by far!

RE:"The kid wearing a UConn sweatshirt during the dunk contest recently should have told us a lot."
I mentioned this earlier in this thread I believe. My gut (Not just Ron) has been telling me that Roscoe was a UCONN lean since he cut his list , so it wasn't surprising to hear he chose them. I may have been one of those people who stated "I appreciated how Roscoe and his family handled his recruitment" , but then it started turning into a circus with all the back and forth - ridiculous quotes and time frame of his announcement... I have no hard feelings against Roscoe and I wish him well. His loss and I don't think taking his tickets away (if that even happened) was wrong at all on our part. I'm sure Jimmy made it his business to have Roscoe covered and situated well. After seeing today's game , I'm sure he felt some type of way. At any rate , I said it before and I'll say it again .. "I WANT PLAYERS THAT WANT TO BE HOYAS" SIR SAXA's right .. all we have to do is keep winning and the rest will fall in order.

I have no problem with people who want to put out what they hear. Virtually everyone who does it for GU fans has been wrong before and will be again. People have also been made to eat crow even when they're not perhaps the most controversial of folks. Look at today's threads on the game, which turned a great win into a snipe fest seeking satisfaction from prodding folks who like others got caught up in the heat of the moment. Easier to do that then to put a basketball idea out there for us to debate. The folks who generate interviews and make predictions put themselves out there and deserve credit for it IMO. There is considerable risk of error. Ron has taken heat on this board before, but, you know what? He was dead on as it related to Roscoe.
I am not sure what is gained by telling someone to shove it from this site to another (and vice-versa) when that is something that this board has given heat to others for doing. Isn't any easier to rightly play the victim's card then.
Anyway, let's get the next one. The Smith decision stings less when you consider how they handled the end game of the recruitment. Maybe they were able to shoot Calhoun a comforting text message on the way back to Storrs.

Enough discussion of people who decided not to participate here any more and who choose to use another forum to post slander and invective about those who participate here.
If you want to discuss Roscoe Smith, go ahead. Further posts about other internet sites will be deleted. Post there if you have issues with that site.

Roscoe Smith is on a break from Oak Hill too--so it's likely that is why he chose now to decide/make it known.
You don't want kids coming into the program who don't want to be here. Good luck to him and I hope he gets his butt kicked every time he plays against Georgetown.

I guess the Carmelo, Rudy Gay examples worked in the case of recruiting Smith and letting him get a feel for how they thought he could fit in. FYI, I hope he can shoot better then Robinson because that guy is garbage if you just don't let him get up in the air.

Robinson shoots well when open but can't hit a contested 3. His shooting is good because he gets left alone so often. He's not actually a good shooter. It also helps he only shots about 2 3's a game.
It sucks that Roscoe was not a man of his word and let his father convince him to change his mind.
Oh well a liar fits right in a Uconn. Good riddance.

Is this Ross kid completely out of the picture? His list is Duke, MD, Kentucky right. Now that we have a wing opening, is there any in there?

It's too bad that people look at stats pages and draw assumptions. Beyond getting open for three's, Robinson has hit at least ten 12'-15' bank shots thus far in BE play. I kept wondering why Roscoe never gave a public verbal to GU. It's because he wasn't sure of his decision at that point. He made his announcement when he felt he was comfortable with doing so. How does that make him a liar? I have heard from several different sources not affiliated with UCONN, that UCONN lead all the way.

You really have no basis for this aside from posters on the internet who you've never met and have no idea of their credibility. Roscoe chose UConn. I can completely understand it if not particularly like it. They have a long history of getting wings to the League. Do I think they do anything special? No. Butler and Gay were guaranteed pros (though Butler gets special credit for cleaning up his off the court issues). But neither Gordon not Allen was considered a slam dunk. Move on, and stop criticizing someone you don't know for something you don't know they did.

Sheesh, just playing around. They're plenty of reasons to pick uconn and no I don't know what roscoe did or did not do. But it's fun to vent.
All I know is: 1) uconn sucks 2) clahoun is scum and a cheater 3) I can't wait for the NCAA to lower the boom on him 4) It's a shame we lost roscoe I really wanted him in blue and Gray. 5) we'll be just fine with out him
as for robinson's shooting. I'll just saying watching him play that he rarely if ever hits a 3pter that's not completely wide open. Take that for what you will. Robinson is a grea athlete. But I don't think he's a great basketball player force him to shoot all game and he loses his effectiveness. He's just a dunker as far as i'm concerned.

I actually like Robinson alot. He's a freak athlete, he's a good rebounder, really good interior defender and while he's an inconsistent shooter, he can score. I'd take him in blue and grey in a heartbeat. When you play UConn, the two guys you absolutely must gameplan for are Dyson and Robinson.

Robinson was 3-22 last season on 3 point shots. He obviously worked on extending his range during the off season. Maybe he's only good enough to hit wide open 3's, but last year he wasn't even doing that, so give credit where it is due.

Well as someone who really didn't want to end of with him out of those 3...im okay with it. I'd just rather have Kendrick....but don't get too riled up. Roscoe will have a up and down career at Uconn. And we will all look back on this and laugh 3 years from now. Remember this kid was dominated by a player who is averaging all of 8.0 and 6 boards a game at Long Island
