MCI, a high usage rate generally means someone is able "create." Of course, that includes players like Roy, who could get their own shot off but a lot of people don't think as creating.
If you look at Poss %, Shot % (Number of shots a player takes as a % of total team shots while the player is on the floor) and assist rate (% of teammates' FGs player assists on while he's on the floor), you can get an idea of whether someone is able to create their own shot, or create for others.
There are five guys on the floor, so a perfectly balanced team would have Poss %s of 20% (1 in 5). A person who can create generally has a higher Poss %. The Harangody's of the world are up near 30%. The highest Hoyas under Thompson tend to be 25%/26%. A player like Wallace sat at 18%/19%.
If you are wondering who can create their own shot -- shot % may be better. It takes away assists and turnovers (and rebounding). Now plenty of shots are not created by the person who shoots. But their aren't a lot of stand alone shooters who take 25% of their team's shots. Most of the people who get there can get their shot off at least 1 on 1.

Watching the replay on MASN. Find it funny that at one point their graphics say that the game is in Lexington, kentucky.
