jt3 got the ball to monroe on the last play and he delivered. that part seems kind of simple.
i sure hope monroe missed the last FT on purpose. that would have been the correct play since temple had no timeouts.

Put it in the WIN column.
It was really ugly, but I'll take it. And that end game sequence may prove to be hugely important to this team's development. We went to our best player at the end, and he delivered.
LOTS of stuff to work on from this one though.

6 assist from the Princeton Offense is not good execution but we'll take the win and continue to improve. Go Hoyas!

This was a very ugly game, but very important. The team needed this to help get rid of the demons of last year and to prove to themselves and each other they can win tight and ugly games. Hopefully they will begin to improve as the season progresses.

Looked like Monroe almost ran into the Temple player after the FT miss. Yikes.
Important win, but inexcusably poor play. Lots of work ahead......

This looked like one of those ugly Villanova games. Maybe it's a Philly thing.

Worrisome stat. Outside of Monroe, Clark, Freeman, Wright...
1-8, 2 pts, 7 pfs, 5 to's.

Poor shooting nights will happen but 16 turnovers is unacceptable. We cut that in half, we get 8 possessions back and this game doesn't cause as much stress.

No one will remember in March that we won this game by 1. Enormous win for the RPI, but more importantly, for the confidence of our guys.
Last year we lose this game going away, and guys mail it in mentally. This year, they still lacked execution, but they kept fighting down the stretch. And like Dan said, it's a baby step in the right direction.
Thanks to the students/alums who made it out to the game today. And eff whoever decided this game should start at 4.

One other thing....Temple is a TOUGH, TOUGH team....I know we played horrible, but the guys proved something to us and themselves. They won a game where they played terrible. They rallied from 39-33 down, and on the final play, the RIGHT guy was assertive and shot the ball.

Survive and advance and maybe they start to shake off the demons of last year and build some kind of cohesion. But that looked a whole bunch like the DePaul game at the end of last year. We didn't lose all the ugly games last year, just most of them.

6 assist from the Princeton Offense is not good execution but we'll take the win and continue to improve. Go Hoyas! I was just going to comment on that....i believe the official number is 7 assts....can't remember a total that low. they also had 15 more shot attempts than us. temple played horrible (3 for 20 somthing from three... 46% from the line) and we were lucky to escape with a win. don't know what we can take from this game other than the fact that we converted our last firld goal attempt.

Didn't see the game but the numbers suggest that this was another trademark Hoya chuckfest:
Behind the arc: 3-18 (16.7%) Inside the arc: 12-24 (50%)
Vaughn 0/5, not much from Sims either but, as they say, all in time. How was the turnout?

Temple will surprise in the A10 this year...I am confident about that.
Hank Sims KILLED us tonight...on offense and defense...he still doesn't seem to know where to go and he got burned on back-to-back plays on defense in the second half.
I like Julian's progress this year...was much MUCH better on the boards and boxing out and seems to be an asset on O this year too...he has to work on his FTs.
The penultimate offensive possession coming out of a timeout was straight atrocious. I thought we were past that.
Monroe came through in the end...if you saw him after his and-1 miracle lay-in he said "give me the FCKN ball!" and he was Editedssed he didnt get it on the abortion possession when wright jacked it up. Moral of the story: give monroe the GD ball!! I'd rather he shoot and miss than have an off-balanced perimeter jumper.
a LOT to work on coming out of this game...but it is a W. glad we have some cupcakes coming up.
oh and EDIT: anyone that watched in crunchtime saw that clark brought the ball up on offense. not sure what that means, but it is a FACT. when the ball is in clark's hands, good things happen...chris is uber-talented, but still trying to harness that talent into a controlled and measured offensive game.

My 2 cents is this, Both teams had a reason why they should have won this game, they shoot Ft's they win, but we just missed a ton of open jump shots in the 1st half that I think we can make(I've seen these guys make) alot of in and outs too....anyway I think the positive to take from this game is that its a marathon not a sprint and I think what the team did in the last 4 mins was more important than the game as a whole...also Chris learned quickly that being assertive is one thing being out of control in late game situations make TO's like the one he had. Temple will be in contention in the A-10, I like alot about their team...This win is even mroe important RPI wise cause that team will be in the NCAA hunt.
