It says he is a McDonald's All-American, this is not true correct?

It says he is a McDonald's All-American, this is not true correct? Unfortunately, it's not right. (Unfortunate because I'm sure Nate would like to play in the game.) Every year, writers make the same mistake. About 1,000 players are nominated for the McDonald's All-American game, and there's always writers who misstate that as "McDonald's All-American." There's also a short list of about 100 players -- which I expect Nate was on -- but most writers don't have access to that.

Nate, I haven't seen you play, but I've read an area of improvement for you is the perimeter shot. If you want more than 10 mins of PT next year, it's yours for the taking if you work hard over the summer. IMO, your defense now puts you ahead of most guys on the team on that side. As for offense, practice the mid-range jumper and bank shot. Make it your money shot. We know that you are a pretty good offensive rebounder, but a mid-range jumper would be deadly and desperately needed.

I'll put this in this thread so as not to start a major explosion on the main board. I'm not normally one for parsing words or drawing conclusions from quotes from recruits, but there's one pretty obvious way to read this quote.

Of course, they probably told him that back in the summer. Heck, we need a backup facilitator even if Greg comes.
I guess my point is, there's no reason to think this is a significant indicator of anything. I still think it is more likely Greg jumps, but I this doesn't sway my opinion 1%.

I also remember, around this time in '07, Chris Wright talking about how excited he was to play with Jeff Green. Let's not read to much into this quotation.

Fact is we do need skilled big guys next year to bang the boards, even if Greg is back. And from all indications thus far, he's coming back, though I think talks he'll be having with friends and family over the next few days will be key.

Agree 100%, but would add in addition to being a "Back-up facilitator", there is every reason to believe Greg and Nate could play together -- if Greg stays. But that is a BIG "if".

Congrats, Nate! Well-deserved! Not to put too much pressure, but this kid will be solid for us from the get go, with or without Greg.

1) Congratulations 2) Can you not see him coming in from the wings to snag a Monroe pass for a monkeydunk 3) Did 6'9 escape anyone? If it's true then we are even better off.

There is also the recent Boncore quote about being able to compete for a championship next season. I forget the exact quote. Woudn't read much into either quote.

A couple of comments about Nte from two message boards From True Blue Nation Forums www.truebluekentucky.com/index.php/forums/2-true-blue-hoops/484538-derby-classic-report.html?pth=484524&nth=484534Nate Lubick (Georgetown) - This guy was a HUGE body inside and he had very good post moves and continued to get to the free throw line along with get rebounds I wouldn't be surprised to see him play a bunch for Georgetown. Trust me he is way better then Moses Abraham who will also being attending. and -------- From Hoosiernation.com mbd.scout.com/mb.aspx?s=170&f=2353&t=5833553Moses Abraham has a longgggg way to go and was without a doubt outplayed by Dieng. This Dieng kid was very, very impressive. He is an inch taller than Moses and about the same weight. Now before everyone starts in on me I realize this was basically an exhibition game. I realize very little defense is played at these events, so I was basically trying to watch for athleticism and basic basketball reactions and instincts. Maybe it was an off night for MA but he seems to be way behind everyone else. Im sure he will catch up in the coming years but if its any consolation for the Hoosier Nation I really dont feel it was a major loss as far as loosing the recruitment to GTown. As a matter of fact Nate Lubbick worked over MA time and time again. I thought Nate was going to be a big ole lurch but he actually moved quite well for a big man. He was quicker to the ball, quicker to the rim and rebounded well. For the first guy from the Kentucky board why would he act as if Nate being than Moses is even noteworthy? Nate is a two time Player of the Year of his state. This past spring and summer he was one of the 15 better players of his class in the AAU circuit better in terms of consistent effort and performance. He was snubbed a bit in the rankings but is still typically a top 50 recruit. He is a third team Parade All American. He's good. And the other guy from the Hoosier site is a jerk IMO. But my opinion of Hoosier fans go down every hour these days. This guy just saw some white dude and thought he would be a stiff. Just ridiculous.

Good stuff. In the video of the game -- during the intros -- the announcer mentions that one of the coaches told him that Lubick has the best basketball IQ of any player he's been around.
