I don't know if anyone caught this, but WVU players are battling the flu. Maybe they caught Tony Bethel's bug:
Beilein said members of his team are battling the flu -- as if Georgetown's offense was not enough.
"I love watching them play," Beilein said of the Hoyas. "I'm going to hate it Saturday. It is beautiful to watch some of the things they do. I hope it would be that we match up better with them than a lot of Big East teams."

I hope it would be that we match up better with them than a lot of Big East teams." Like many other comments this season, from Calhoun to Mr. Magoo, I am filing this one in a folder I like to call, "When's the last time anyone heard THAT!" Nice to hear, I don't like how he's Lou Holtz-ing us up though. Hopefully we can keep up the good home court record against WVU (and not need a three at the buzzer to do so). On another note, I know the ads at the top of the pages rotate, but is anyone else getting a little chuckle out of the the ad for Mountaineersingles.com. Particularly the tag line: "The way Mountaineers meet!" ...at the business end of a shotgun ...at family get-togethers ...at the ole' fishin' hole ...at the annual Jubilation T. Cornpone Day ...in a Burt Reynolds movie Sorry, sorry, sorry. I love the good people of the state of West Virginia. Couldn't help myself. Go Hoyas!

Is that the "influenza virus" flu or the "I'm Editeding my pants at playing against the Patriots defense" flu?

Washington Post, GU vs. WVU Pre-Game Article: "We've been going at it non-stop," freshman guard Jonathan Wallace said. "Even on our days off, we've been doing a little extra -- shooting, keeping our hands on the ball so we don't lose our touch. . . . Without playing, you always run the risk of losing your rhythm or coming out slow in your next game. But I don't think that should be a problem."www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A17536-2005Feb11.html

"I saw [Jeff Green] in high school and thought he was good, but he's turned out to be a better college player," Calhoun said. "He's not as mature as Carmelo [Anthony] was, but he's that type of kid. He doesn't look like a freshman, doesn't act like a freshman, doesn't play like a freshman."
I had thought about this earlier in the week, and I believe that JG is the best frosh in the BE since Carmelo Anthony.

WoW! Especially, since they cut off the top and limited the seating to 12,500!?

Two things...
First, I noticed crawford only got 7 minutes or so. I don't really understand why he gets alot of playing time than almost none. However, I trust JT3 knows what he was doing.
Second, AKD had a awesome 3 attempt. I case you missed it, the shot clock was winding down and he shot a surprisingly nice looking shot that rattled in and out.
Good attendance today, and a good win Go Hoyas!

Point of clarification: They curtain off the seats in the upper deck behind each basket. There were sections of seats sold in the upper deck today along the sidelines.

So close on AKD's three pointer. I'm convinced that if he ever does knock one down, I'm going to walk out of the MCI Center and meteors are going to be falling from the sky in Chinatown.
My contribution to this whole post-game articles thing, the RECAP, will be showing up sometime late this evening. I'm going out for a little while, but I managed to scribble down a few notes so I don't forget about stuff like the scary guy with the trenchcoat and the scraggly beard in line with the WVU fans today.
I'm interested to read the quotes from players when they come down tonight. Nice to see once again Georgetown outplaying a team in crunch time with superior focus and execution on both ends.

I was about to call the mci center and see if someone was in AKD's uni. One of the most awkward shots ive ever seen that almost went in.

I'm getting the UCONN highlights Yeah, looks like they've got the wrong link/file up right now. I'm sure they'll fix it at some point.
