Hope he saw that if plays defense, he'd play right away.

Apparently he has the skill to fit perfectly in our system. In all seriousness if he can play defense, he'll be getting tons of a minutes for a competitive big time team that runs an offense that will specifically showcase his skills.

Unfortunately, that's the knock on Anderson. He's not incredibly quick. That said, he can be a good defender if we play him at the 3. If you're 6'9" at the college 3, you can play off and use your height against most guys if you are smart about it.

he'd be the least athletic kid on my team. I'd surround him with flyers.

You can have a few nonathletic kids but not a roster filled with them.

Motor issues aside, are Hopkins and Bolden considered athletic for their positions?

both are very athletic and long with nice frames for adding muscle. Good shot blockers.

Hurley will toughen Kyle up the next couple years. Exactly what we need (combined with his skill set). Too bad he can't get some run at White Eagle...

I think you all are underestimating Andersons Athleticsm. Especially on the defensive side. I recall him having no real problems defending and staying in front of Rivers last year down in Orlando. Technique and basketball IQ make up alot when defending. He has alot more of it than most on the current team.

Do we have a real chance with this kid?

YES ... and not only that .. his parents like the staff and GU in general. All we need is for Kyle to see how well he fits into our system. Coach Hurley has said it many times that Kyle would fit well in our system. It all depends on if Kyle feels comfortable with the team and distance (D.C) .. believe it or not , but Seton Hall , Rutgers(No 'ships left - but they'd make room) and Nova are also being seriously considered. With that said , we have a very good chance to land him. He didn't visit our MM two outta three H.S yrs for nothing.

That is awesome. We need him and Ochefu to sign up and give us a top class.

Anderson, Pollard, Ware, Ochefu. I'll take two of the four @ their respective positions.

I have it on very good authority that the 4 schools you mention are definitely in the mix. I was also told that being close to home is very important for Kyle & his family. A friend who knows his father said that DC is the absolute farthest from home Kyle is likely to go to college. That said, the positive comments from Coach Hurley & his parents put GU in VERY good position. Villanova is really the only one that worries me.

From what I've heard and seen , I really like that Pollard Kid. I also agree with ID in that we need another guard. The squeeze on our "ship situation is ugly though. I'm interested to see how we handle the 2012 class. Also , if a player like Otto Porter wants to be a Hoya in the 2011 class .. you have to take him. That kid is gonna be special imo

Villanova is worrisome but Bronxie has to be honest if Seton Hall and Rotgers are the competition along with Nova I give us a 50% shot. Not scared of the Jersey schools.
BTW....isnt Bolden a 2012 kid?
