Why do they have HS Srs listed? That seems ridiculously premature and pointless.

Note this is the 2010 draft, not 2009.

also note high schoolers aren't able to jump straight to the NBA. so why even include them?

also note high schoolers aren't able to jump straight to the NBA. so why even include them? easy answer: these are this year's highschool senior. i.e. by 2010 draft, they will have completed their freshman year

He'll clearly declare. Whether he stays in or not is a different story. But he's the #1 freshman in the draft and a potential top 5 pick. It's a long shot he wouldn't go to camps.

why would he clearly declare? don't players already know what NBA personnel think of their strengths and weaknesses? i guess I don't know the process well enough...I know it makes sense for the upperclassmen to test the waters and improving their stock from workouts but lottery picks don't do the camps...they do individual workouts for very specific teams to see if they want you. An interview basically. anyone care to comment?
it would be a pretty big 360 from what he has said before and the way he has acted....I think he knows declaring would be a big mistake...but what do i know..i just like to speculate on a talk board

He would be going to individual workouts. Is it weird for him to do that? I really don't know. But his chances of staying more than two years seems so remote that, he can use that declaration now.

Chad Ford is a moron. He has no accountability in his position. He plays Fantasy Basketball for a living and writes articles with no actual facts. I mean look at his top 25.
He has BJ Mullens listed as a lottery pick. That lug can not even start for a middle of the pack Big Ten team. Did anyone see the game with Siena. In one of the worst coaching moves this year, Matta put Mullens into the game in the last minute after he had not played much down the stretch. Has an inbounds play goto Mullens when up 3 with less than a minute. Mullens misses both FTs. Mullens then proceeds to foul the player at the other end for the tying basket. And Mullens is supposed to be a lottery pick? Good luck with that.
He also has Gerald Henderson listed as #20 on his board. That is absurd. Henderson is athletic and can create his own shot. He will be better than Harden, Curry, Derozen, Teague, and Holiday in the NBA. Mark it down now.

"Flynn was pretty adamant on Saturday that he'll return to Syracuse for his junior season. "I'm coming back to Syracuse," he said. "That's it. I'm coming back to Syracuse. There is no 'as of right now.' I'm coming back to Syracuse. Yeah. I'm coming back to Syracuse." Flynn is currently ranked as a potential mid-to-late first-round pick."

What does it hurt to declare and not hire an agent anyway? Good luck to Greg regardless of his decision.
As an addendum, on the Michael Kay show on ESPN radio yesterday, Michael was basically lambasting Johnny Flynn's decision as ridiculous as his draft status will likely not improve much after this year. Flynn is expected to be on with MK today between 3 and 3:15 for anyone interested.

I cannot see a downside for Monroe to declare, like someone said, at most he is a two year player so might as well use all means available to talk to the right people. If he declares he gets to attend the camps (not to play) but to interact with the guys making the personnel decisions. Like Jeff Green, if he sees himself being more highly thought of than even he imagined than he will stay and make a boatload of money. If not, he will come back energized to work on what some scouts see as deficiencies so he can be Top 3 next season. I will actually be surprised if he declares and comes back. He will see how valued his skill set is by the NBA.
As for Johnny Flynn, that guy seems to enjoy playing the game. No one plays with that much enthusiasm in the NBA and he knows that. He is having fun and the team next year should be National Championship level, so why not come back? Michael Kay is such a jaded New Yorker, he always talks about going for the money and loves the game of contracts more than the game on the field or court. He will ALWAYS side with the money.

Have you seen how well Flynn has been playing over the Big East tournament and NCAA tournament? He has been unbelieveable. I think after the season he will realize that he is a top 15 pick and reconsider coming back. I know he plays for Cuse, but Flynn has been a pleasure to watch over the last two weeks.

maybe he will put his name in, but i really don't see the point if he's going to stay. i think he's got plenty of feedback on how he can improve and he's going to be a high pick next year anyway. there is nothing really to gain from him putting his name in this year if he really intends on returning. that's what makes me nervous. if he leaves this year, he's a top ten pick. he can move up the draft board as high as two depending on workouts. everyone knows that. so the bottom line is whether he wants to go this year or next. if he puts his name in this year, i think he's gone. why go to the trouble otherwise? he knows what is at stake, and that won't change by working out for teams.

I agree that there is no point for Monroe to declare if he is sure he wants to come back. For a borderline 1st rounder, maybe it makes sense - but there really isn't even a point for a top 10 pick to waste his time if he knows he wants to come back.

I disagree that there's no reason to put his name in if he doesn't intend to go. If he has already made the decision to stay for another season, what's the downside? He becomes familiar with the process, knows what the workouts will be like, gets to know some of the people, and then when he does decide to really commit and go pro, he knows exactly what to expect. Absolutely no downside to putting his name in.
