just called him the best free throw shooter and perhaps the best shooter THAT EVER LIVED. Hes good but jeez this whole duke/acc lovefest has got to end. UNC and Wake are great this year, no one else is that impressive. The statement Patrick made truly is mind boggling, Larry Bird, Jerry West, the list goes on and on, cant wait for Redick to be a scrub in the L

When will the needless ACC whining end.... He IS the best free throw shooter ever, statistically, I believe. And I think that fact alone sort of makes him one of the best ever by default, not to mention the 3 point shooting, etc.....

Insane. Patrick and Vitale are so desperate to get JJ drafted that they have to go overboard in their praise for the kid. During the Maryland-Duke game Vitale kept talking about how good Reddick would look playing alongside Shaquille O'Neal. Is Vitale JJ's agent now?

But he's not close to being the best shooter. His shooting percentage is not that good, though part of that is because he keps jacking up threes. I'm a Duke fan but even I think Vitale and Patrick go too far.

What really annoys me is that Patrick cannot just be a play by play guy.
Normal person: "Redick tips the ball to Ewing...who brings the ball up." Patrick: "Redick tips the ball and oh, what a smart play! What a brilliant play! He's got so many aspects to his game!"
This is every play. And not just Redick, or Duke players. Even Vitale was telling him he was overboard.

When I think of best free throw shooting ever, I think of that guy Kerr on the Bulls who NEVER missed..... like I seriously don't remember him missing. Reddick is a disgusting FT shooter and shooter in general, but I think calling him the best shooter ever? a little ridiculous

He doesn't have the handle or the agility to be called silky smooth. That was almost as laughable as Vitale exaggerating his ability to handle the ball last week during the Maryland game. JJ proceeded to turn over the ball twenty times after that (including one play when he tried to go behind his back but failed miserably). Give him credit for what he CAN do and end it there.

That's Patrick's style. He does it in the NFL to. Everyone is great if they play in Sunday night I always joke.
BTW, Reddick is an amazing player who actually deserves all the hype he gets...He is more well rounded then many give him credit for. Georgetown would be a top 15 team with him as the 2 guard...

I hate Duke as much as the next guy, but Redick was feeling it last night. Redick is probably the best shooter that Duke has ever had, and he has done a good job this year, of driving to the hoop when he gets overplayed outside. His drifter from the corner, and the behind the back dribble quick three from the wing were pretty sweet.
Is there anyone on this board who would not like to see him on the Hoyas???

I would not like to see him as a Hoya. If you want to have him, a Dukey, on are team as a Hoya, then you probably would want Hakim Warrick from Syracuse on are team as hoya as well.

If you add Warrick and Redick to this lineup, we're national championship contenders. I'd want them both in Blue and Gray. I would not like to see him as a Hoya. Patrick and Vitale drive me nuts, but Reddick is the best shooter I've ever seen. His % may not be the best, but that's only because he needs to shoot so many with hands in his face and from 30 feet.
I would KILL to have that kid on our team. Anyone who says otherwise doesn't watch college basketball. He works hard and is a great teammate.
Duke drives me nuts, but this kid is legit and a great college basketball player...period. I don't think he plays a ton in the pros, but he is what he is...a great college basketball player.

To say Reddick is the best shooter they have ever seen, shows that one's span of basketball watching, is rather limited. Offensive players are great to the naked eye and "casual" fan. The Dirk Nowitski's, Steve Nash's, and Antoine Walkers of the world are great. However, it takes a little more than just "O" to build championship contenders. You need a little "D" as well, as you see Duke lost last night with all that "great" shooting by Reddick.

Yup. Duke would be lost without him.
Do any of our recruits, Sapp in particular, have a game like Reddick? I mean, pure shooter/pure scrorer skills? That is what this current team is clearly missing. We have great ball movement, it's beautful at times, then someone back irons a wide-open three and it goes to waste.

I apologize. I assumed people meant on the college level. Clearly some NBA players are better shooters.
The question wasn't about whether Duke won last night or how to build a championship contender. Redick was the reason why that team was in the game on the road in a hostile arena and he almost single handidly brought that team back.

See Josh Thornton who can shoot lights out, but is nothing like Reddick. Geez, the Duke worshipping by G'twon fans is rather depressing.
